Description
The Educational Materials Clerk is responsible for managing the receipt, organization, inventory, storage, and distribution of curriculum materials and designated furniture assets for ResponsiveEd campuses.
This position serves as the primary coordinator for educational materials returned from campus closures, surplus inventory, and other warehouse activities. The successful candidate will ensure these resources are accurately inventoried, properly stored, and efficiently redistributed to campuses requesting them.
In addition to curriculum management, this position will assist with tracking furniture inventory, coordinating furniture shipments, and maintaining accurate warehouse records.
Requirements
Curriculum Inventory Management
  • Receive educational materials returned from ResponsiveEd campuses.
  • Inspect curriculum for condition and usability.
  • Sort and organize materials by subject, title, grade level, and condition.
  • Inventory all incoming materials using warehouse inventory systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Conduct periodic cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Identify damaged or obsolete materials for disposal following company procedures.
  • Maintain organized shelving and storage locations.

Campus Order Fulfillment
  • Monitor warehouse systems for incoming campus requests.
  • Pull, verify, package, and prepare curriculum orders for shipment.
  • Coordinate shipping with warehouse personnel.
  • Ensure all shipments are complete and accurate.
  • Track outgoing shipments.
  • Assist campuses with questions regarding inventory availability and shipment status.

Furniture Inventory & Distribution
Additional responsibilities include supporting the management of ResponsiveEd furniture assets by:
  • Tracking furniture received from campus closures, consolidations, relocations, and surplus returns.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records for furniture stored in the warehouse and designated storage areas.
  • Preparing and coordinating furniture shipments to campuses requesting available furnishings.
  • Verifying furniture quantities and condition before shipment and upon receipt.
  • Updating inventory systems to reflect all furniture receipts, transfers, and distributions.
  • Communicating with campuses regarding furniture availability, shipping schedules, and delivery coordination.

Warehouse Operations
  • Receive and stock incoming shipments.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse.
  • Assist with warehouse organization projects.
  • Support annual physical inventory counts.
  • Assist other warehouse personnel during peak production periods.
  • Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment after appropriate training.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory documentation.
  • Update inventory databases and spreadsheets.
  • Generate inventory reports as requested.
  • Assist with identifying process improvements to increase warehouse efficiency.
  • Communicate professionally with ResponsiveEd campuses regarding inventory, orders, and shipments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations & Production, the Assistant Production Manager, or other warehouse leadership.
