Summary
Coordinates the day-to-day operations of medical residency and/or fellowship programs which include block scheduling, organizing recruitment, orchestrating the interview and the matching process, and maintaining accreditation.
Job Duties
  • Counsels and advises medical residents/fellows in paperwork and medical education training issues.
  • Interprets program certification guidelines and identifies gaps in program operations for improvements.
  • Oversees the organization and execution of Graduate Medical Education (GME) program recruitment, interview, match, and orientation process.
  • Tracks, reports, and ensures compliance with procedures regarding duty hours, evaluations, licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and the initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
  • Manages the GME personnel database and ensures all data is up to date, including current and alumni house staff.
  • Manages the marketing function of the GME program(s), including the development and updates to web-site content, social media platforms, newsletters, and other recruitment program materials.
  • Evaluates house staff morale, keeps program administration abreast of changes, and responds to concerns.
  • Assesses overall training, identifies new ways to enhance trainee experience, and provides input and recommendations.
  • Produces and distributes annual rotation schedules and manages monthly changes for the GME programs.
  • Participates in the remediation process when there is non-compliance, and assists with determining trainees' ability to continue medical training.
  • Responsible for understanding and maintaining program finances and budgets.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED with 1 year experience in healthcare or educational setting or
  • Associate's Degree related field.
  • 1 year related experience.
  • Knowledge of program management methodologies and protocols.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the internet.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Skill in collecting and analyzing complex data.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree related field.

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
