Job description

About the Organization:
Sea Pact is a coalition of leading North American seafood companies united by a shared commitment to driving continuous improvement in social and environmental responsibility across the seafood industry. Through collaboration, shared resources, and collective action, Sea Pact equips its member companies to tackle the seafood industry's most pressing sustainability challenges.ย
ย
Position Summary:
Sea Pact is seeking a versatile Program Associate to support the operational delivery of our inaugural 5-Year Strategic Plan (2025-2030). This is a unique opportunity to join a small, high-impact team at a pivotal moment in our coalition's evolution. This role also offers a high-profile opportunity to work with some of the largest mid-supply chain seafood companies in the North American market, and the non-profit and advisory networks that support them. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will serve as the organizational backbone of Sea Pact-blending program administration, member engagement, and external communications.ย
In this role, you will act as a key point of contact for our member companies, helping them navigate and implement sustainability goals across our three priority areas. Simultaneously, you will own Sea Pact's digital presence, drafting compelling content to elevate our profile across the sustainable seafood sector.ย

Strategic Plan Implementation
ย
  • Coordinate and support activities across Sea Pact's three strategic priority areas: Wild Sector Sustainability, Social Responsibility, and North American Aquacultureย
  • Support working group coordination, including scheduling, agenda development, and follow-upย
  • Contribute to tracking progress toward strategic plan goals and help maintain internal dashboards or reporting toolsย
  • Assist in developing member-facing resources such as toolkits, templates, best practice guides, and educational materialsย
  • Lead data collection efforts including member surveys and aggregated sourcing data initiativesย
  • Liaise with Sea Pact's sustainability advisors (typically conservation and seafood non-profits) to coordinate deliverables and information-sharingย
Member Engagementย
  • Serve as a point of contact for member inquiries related to strategic plan activitiesย
  • Help prepare materials for member meetings, working sessions, and webinarsย
  • Support onboarding of new member companiesย
  • Assist in coordinating Sea Pact's presence at industry events and conferencesย
Communications and Profile Elevationย
  • With the support and direction from the Executive Director, develop and execute communications strategies that expand Sea Pact's profile and visibility among key audiences including member companies, funders, NGO partners, and the broader seafood industryย
  • Represent Sea Pact positively at industry events, conferences, and other meetingsย
  • Draft and edit newsletter articles, blog posts, social media content, and other external communicationsย
  • Maintain and update Sea Pact's website contentย
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to amplify Sea Pact's work through industry publications, conference speaking opportunities, award nominations, and partnership channelsย
  • Support the development of reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate Sea Pact's impact to members, funders, and the broader industryย
  • Monitor relevant industry news and sustainability developments to identify timely communications opportunitiesย
  • Assist with grant reporting and funder communications as neededย
You are a highly organized, self-directed professional. You are a strong storyteller, an efficient task manager, and passionate about sustainable supply chains. You see this role as an incredible launchpad to build deep expertise in environmental NGO operations and corporate sustainability. ย

Specific Experience Requested:
We recognize that each applicant for this role will bring unique skills, knowledge, experiences, and background to this position, lending his/her/their flair to the trajectory of the Program Associate role. We welcome diverse experiences and perspectives in our applicant pool, and will be looking for candidates who possess many, but not necessarily all, of the following qualifications and experience:ย
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, marine science, sustainability, nonprofit management, or a related field OR 3 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, program support, or a related roleย
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly for professional audiencesย
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneouslyย
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote settingย
  • Comfortable with domestic and international travel approximately 10% of the time, including industry conferences and member engagementsย
  • Proficiency in standard productivity and collaboration tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.)ย
  • Graduate degree in environmental studies, marine science, sustainability, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field preferredย
  • Familiarity with the seafood industry, sustainable seafood, or related fields (fisheries, aquaculture, supply chain, food systems)ย
  • Experience supporting member-based organizations, coalitions, or trade associationsย
  • Experience with newsletter platforms (e.g. Mailchimp), website content management systems (e.g. Squarespace), social media management, and public speakingย
  • Experience with data collection, survey tools, or basic data managementย
Workplace & Travel: This is a fully remote role that requires occasional travel (4-5 times per year) for all-team in-person meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Candidates must be based in the U.S. to ensure primary availability during member working hours.ย ย
Compensation: Multiplier provides a comprehensive compensation package, including competitive rate ($28.85 - $33.65 per hour), excellent medical and dental benefits, retirement savings, and generous vacation and sick leave policy.
ย
