About the company

Our client is an early-stage artificial intelligence company building highly accurate detection technology for schools, universities, and other organizations that need to understand whether content was created by people or AI. Its product has demonstrated 99.98% accuracy and is already trusted by leading academic institutions. The company has raised $3.95 million in seed funding, is on track for rapid revenue growth, and operates from Brooklyn with a small, hands-on team.

About the role

We are hiring an Account Executive to own new business across the education market. You will inherit an active pipeline while also building your own opportunities, running the full sales cycle from prospecting through pilots, procurement, negotiation, and close. This is an onsite role in Brooklyn, New York, five days per week.

What you will do

• Own the full sales cycle for higher education and K-12 accounts, including self-sourcing new opportunities

• Manage discovery, demonstrations, pilots and trials, procurement, negotiation, and closing

• Build relationships with academic, administrative, technology, and procurement stakeholders

• Navigate education budgeting cycles, academic calendars, and complex buying processes

• Maintain a rigorous pipeline and consistently meet or exceed quota

• Share market feedback with product and leadership teams

Requirements

What we are looking for

• Three to seven years of experience selling software or technology into education

• A record of closing new business and consistently exceeding quota

• Experience with deal sizes of roughly $10,000 to $80,000 in annual contract value

• Strong knowledge of education procurement, budgeting, and academic calendar cycles

• Experience owning the full sales cycle, including outbound prospecting and pilots or trials

• Evidence of progression from a business development role into a closing role

• Comfort operating without extensive enablement or a dedicated BDR team

• Willingness to work onsite in Brooklyn five days per week

Nice to have

• Deep experience selling into higher education

• Experience selling into both higher education and K-12 institutions

• Success in a small or early-stage software company

• Familiarity with artificial intelligence, academic integrity, or education technology

Benefits

• Base salary of $105,000 to $125,000

• On-target earnings of $210,000 to $250,000 with uncapped commissions

• Meaningful equity

• Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage

• Visa transfers, including OPT and H-1B, may be considered for qualified candidates
