Overview

To develop and maintain HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 transactions and support in EDI and otherapplication development at PHC. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, andimplementing each of the federal and/or state mandated transactions and other EDI applicationsusing tools & technologies such as Edifecs's Smart Trading including Spec Builder, EnterpriseApplication Manager, XEngine and Transaction Manager and scheduling systems such as ActiveBatch and database technologies such as MS SQL Server & Oracle and MS .Net/SSIS/SSRS andWeb Services.

Responsibilities
  • Develop HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 EDI transactions and support EDI applicationdevelopment using an established SDLC methodology
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages like C# and Java
  • Experience in managing EDIFECS installation, usage and overall working conditions
  • Create/update maps, guidelines and profiles using Edifecs tools such as SpecBuilder,Map Builder, XEngine and EAM as per the requirements.Have good understanding of business rules and extensive experience creating EDIprocess flows and roadmaps
  • Interpret business issues and recommend EDIFECS solutions/best practices
  • Develop web services using technologies such as .NET, SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, andREST
  • Provide on-going maintenance support to EDI and HIPAA transactions, processes andapplication development
  • Have strong PL/SQL background with extensive experience coding Stored Procedures,Functions triggers in Oracle 11 and above
  • Have strong specialization or substantial project work in Python object-orientedprogramming or Windows PowerShell scripting
  • Lead the team in designing, coding, testing and implementation of newer processes andsystems
  • Learn state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and bring-ininnovative ideas to keep improving the existing processes and applications.
  • Use sound technical judgment and make appropriate system decisions.
  • Provide training and assistance to less experienced staff as needed.
  • Create and maintain documentation for assigned projects and participate in teammeetings, conferences and problem solving discussions

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform other assigned or needed activities required to assure success of the EDIdevelopment role and to support other work of the IT Department.
Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or a related fieldpreferred. Minimum of 5-8 plus years of experience in InformationSystems building and working with EDI transactions. Minimum twoyears of experience in health care & EDI. Experience with large,highly complex projects desired.

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Experience with development of EDI transactions. Knowledge of EDItranslators is required. At least 5 years of experience with EDIDevelopment using Edifecs's Smart Trading including Spec Builder,Enterprise Application Manager, XEngine and Transaction ManagerVersion 9 & above and Oracle Enterprise Edition Release 12 & above,MS SQL Server Version 2017 & above. Experience in relationaldatabase DDL, DML, Transact SQL, PL/SQL / stored procedure isrequired. Experience in building web services using technologies suchas SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST. Experience with Microsofttechnologies such as MS .NET/SSIS/SSRS/WCF and Web Services isrequired. Knowledge of health care coding systems. Writing and verbalability important.

Ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of AMYSIS softwareand managed care issues. Strong written and oral communication skillswith ability to interpret and understand technical requirements.Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systemsproblems.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

More than 50% of work time is spent at a video display terminal. Maybe required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or work in other non-standingand non-sitting positions to install cabling, systems hardware and otherrelated equipment.
