Trojan Learning Center Director/Assistant Principal
This is a 49% Position
Under the supervision of the High School Principal, the Trojan Learning Center Director/Assistant Principal will carry out the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain an active and accurate roster of all TLC students, monitoring and documenting weekly, monthly, and semester-long progress related to attendance, coursework completion, academic performance, and behavior.
  • Establish and sustain a structured, supportive, and rehabilitative learning environment that promotes student engagement, consistent attendance, and academic success.
  • Develop individualized student behavior and academic plans designed to address specific needs and support successful reintegration into the traditional school setting or completion of graduation requirements through the TLC.
  • Review, revise, and oversee implementation of the TLC Handbook and student induction process, clearly outlining expectations for behavior, attendance, academic progress, and graduation pathways.
  • Ensure all student referrals to the TLC are handled with appropriate due process, in alignment with district policies and state regulations.
  • Participate in tribunal hearings and disciplinary proceedings when necessary and appropriate.
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers assigned to the TLC.
  • Serve as the administrator for the Edgenuity program for all TLC staff and for teachers utilizing Edgenuity for credit recovery in the main building.
  • Oversee the setup and management of Edgenuity courses for extended semester, summer learning, and potential night school programs.
  • Monitor instructional fidelity and student progress within digital learning platforms to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate regularly with school counselors to ensure accurate scheduling, proper course placement, and timely posting of completed coursework to student transcripts.
  • Communicate consistently with the principal regarding the needs, challenges, and successes of the TLC, including staffing, instructional resources, and student support services.
  • Meet with parents and guardians as needed to address student academic, behavioral, or attendance concerns.
  • Coordinate with the ESE Lead to ensure appropriate accommodations and services are provided for student with IEPs and 504 plans.
  • Communicate maintenance, safety, and custodial needs of the TLC facility to the principal and district maintenance director.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment that supports learning and student well-being.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Certification in Educational leadership at the Master's Level, L6 or L7 preferred
  • Three or more years of successful teaching experience
  • Three or more years of successful experience as building administrator
  • Demonstrates school leadership in areas of instruction, assessment, discipline, and school organization.
  • Exemplary oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
