Job description

Position Overview: As a member of the social media team which sits in the Public Affairs department, the Senior Project Manager of social media is responsible for the implementation of NYCEDC's social media strategy by crafting compelling content and launching and managing ad campaigns to NYCEDC-owned social media channels. The SPM reports to the AVP of social media and works closely with External Affairs, interdisciplinary project teams, a wide range of stakeholders, and other city agencies to social first content plans and ad campaigns. In addition, the SPM plays a key role in the implementation of the executive thought leadership strategy on social media, including social content for the President & CEO. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with a passion for social media storytelling and data-driven marketing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the social media director and social media managers to implement the social media strategy for their portfolio, aligning social media campaigns and multimedia storytelling series with organizational priorities.
  • Write and publish engaging social media posts, ensuring brand voice consistency.
  • Create content plans including video and graphics for channels underneath the NYCEDC umbrella.
  • Create social media toolkits for stakeholders to use to support key NYCEDC announcements
  • Develop and manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and performance tracking
  • Conduct A/B testing on ad campaigns to optimize performance.
  • Stay current with social media trends and social media advertising best practices.
  • Collaborate with the creative producer and marketing team to produce visually appealing content.
  • Monitor social media channels, analyze performance data, and provide actionable insights for organic and paid social media content.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in social media management, with a focus on copywriting and multimedia creation.
  • Strong writing skills with a portfolio showcasing creative and effective social media copy. Experience with social media advertising platforms (e.g., Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Proficiency using social media analytics tools to measure campaign performance.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with digital multi-media tools (PowerPoint, social metrics, video creation, Canva, etc.).
  • New York City resident (required within 180 days of hire)
  • Portfolio submission is required. Incomplete applications without portfolios may be considered.

Salary Range
$78,000-$80,000 USD
