What is Ecommerce Testing?

Ecommerce Testing is the process of evaluating and validating an online store or ecommerce application to ensure its functionality, usability, security, and performance meet customer expectations and business requirements. It involves testing various aspects such as product search, shopping cart, payment gateways, order processing, and security features. The goal is to identify and fix any issues that could impact user experience or cause revenue loss, ensuring a seamless and secure shopping experience for customers.

Will AI replace e-commerce?

Job Overview
We are seeking a data-driven, versatile, and highly collaborative Ecommerce Manager to oversee and scale our online business. In this central role, you will act as the crucial link connecting our developers, marketing, operations, and creative teams. You will wear multiple hats to manage the end-to-end ecommerce experience - toggling seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate blends an analytical mindset with strong digital marketing, merchandising, and technical product management skills.
Responsibilities
  • Ecommerce Strategy: Develop and execute the overarching roadmap to scale the online business, aligning digital initiatives with broader company revenue goals.
  • Conversion & Revenue Optimization: Continuously drive improvements in key performance metrics, specifically focusing on increasing Conversion Rate, Revenue Per Visitor (RPV), and Average Order Value (AOV).
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with developers, marketing, operations, and creative teams to ensure all digital initiatives are aligned and executed flawlessly across the business.
  • Strategic Inventory Management: Monitor and dynamically adjust inventory (e.g., adding trips, updating pricing) to maximize net revenue, basing decisions on operational costs, sales forecasts, customer behavior, and competitive analysis.
  • Pricing & Promotions: Develop and execute pricing strategies, sitewide sales, and promotional campaigns that drive revenue while protecting margins.
  • Website Merchandising & Content: Take hands-on ownership of the product merchandising by selecting compelling imagery, writing high-converting product copy, and curating an engaging e-commerce experience.
  • Platform Enhancements & Automation: Identify bottlenecks and pain points in the current platforms to develop clear, actionable requirements that improve platform functionality and automate workflows, with the ultimate goal of achieving maximum automation.
  • UX/UI Direction: Direct the UX/UI designer by providing clear requirements, data-driven insights, and strategic guidance to improve site architecture, navigation, and the overall customer journey.
  • QA & Web Development Validation: Perform rigorous QA testing on all new web development features, platform updates, and bug fixes prior to live deployment.
  • A/B Testing & Analytics: Deep-dive into site analytics to diagnose performance issues, and design, launch, and manage A/B tests to validate site improvements and drive growth.

Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in ecommerce or web merchandising, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving core KPIs.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience driving ticket sales, booking capacities, or travel/event ecommerce is a massive plus.
  • Entrepreneurial Operator: Extensive knowledge of what drives a profitable ecommerce business, including site merchandising, UX/UI, analytics, capacity planning, and the end-to-end customer journey.
  • Tech-Savvy & Data-Driven: Highly analytical and revenue-oriented, with the technical fluency to direct web development requirements, manage QA, and drive workflow automation.
  • Cross-Functional Leader: Exceptional communication, project management, and change management skills.
  • Agile Problem Solver: A passionate, proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Flexible Availability: Because our business is busiest during major holidays, these are our most critical sales periods. This role requires an average of 45 hours per week and the flexibility to be on-call during evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will take alternative days off in lieu of working major holidays.

Location
  • Our Dallas corporate office requires 5 days onsite. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary
  • Performance bonus
  • Paid time off
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage
