Executive Vice President, E-Commerce

Position Overview: We are looking for a commercially driven, strategic e-commerce executive to lead and scale Ethos Pet Brands' digital commerce business. As a key member of the leadership team, the Executive Vice President, E-Commerce will shape the future of the company's digital growth strategy, driving revenue, profitability, and market share across Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com, and future e-retail channels.

This highly visible leadership role will own the e-commerce P&L and be accountable for customer relationships, channel strategy, digital shelf excellence, retail media, forecasting, promotional strategy, and execution across key e-retail partners. The EVP will play a critical role in shaping Ethos Pet Brands' commercial strategy, strengthening customer partnerships, and building the capabilities necessary to accelerate long-term growth.

Working in close partnership with Marketing and Brand leadership, the EVP will translate consumer insights, innovation, brand positioning, and integrated campaigns into compelling digital experiences that drive awareness, conversion, loyalty, and profitable growth. Together, these teams will ensure a consistent and differentiated consumer experience across channels while optimizing content, media, and activation strategies for each e-retail partner.

The ideal candidate is a proven e-commerce leader with deep expertise in digital retail, marketplace dynamics, retail media, digital merchandising, analytics, and consumer behavior. This individual will have a demonstrated track record of building and scaling profitable businesses on platforms such as Amazon, Chewy, and Walmart.com while balancing revenue growth, profitability, brand equity, and long-term customer relationships.

As Ethos Pet Brands continues to grow, the EVP will identify and evaluate new digital commerce opportunities, establish strategic partnerships, and build the people, processes, and capabilities required to position e-commerce as a significant and sustainable growth engine for the company.

This role reports into the CEO and the key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 

  • E-Commerce Strategy & Business Leadership

    • Own and execute the e-commerce strategy across Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com and future strategic e-retail partners.

    • Own the e-commerce P&L and deliver revenue, profitability, market share, and growth objectives.

    • Develop annual and long-term plans, including forecasts, investments, promotions, and growth priorities.

    • Serve as the e-commerce leader and strategic advisor to the SLT.

  • Amazon, Chewy & Walmart.com Leadership

    • Own the commercial strategy and senior relationships with Amazon, Chewy and Walmart.com.

    • Lead joint business planning, negotiations, assortment, pricing, promotions, and growth initiatives.

    • Drive profitable growth, distribution, sell-through, and customer performance.

    • Partner cross-functionally to deliver customer plans and resolve opportunities and risks.

  • Digital Shelf & Marketplace Excellence

    • Own best-in-class digital shelf execution across content, search, imagery, ratings, reviews, pricing, availability, and merchandising.

    • Drive discoverability, traffic, conversion, rankings, and sell-through.

    • Establish e-commerce standards across the Ethos Pet Brands portfolio.

    • Partner closely with Brand Marketing to bring brand strategy, storytelling, and campaigns to life online.

  • Retail Media & Digital Marketing

    • Partner with Marketing to develop integrated e-commerce, retail media, and digital marketing strategies.

    • Maximize Amazon, Chewy, Walmart.com and other retail media investments to drive traffic, conversion, and profitable growth.

    • Establish clear ROI and performance expectations for media investment.

    • Integrate e-commerce activation with broader brand and commercial plans.

  • Analytics, Forecasting & Performance

    • Partner with DIG to establish e-commerce KPIs, dashboards, and insights that drive performance and commercial decisions.

    • Leverage data and insights to optimize sales, pricing, promotions, media, assortment, inventory, and profitability.

    • Own e-commerce forecasting in partnership with Finance and Supply Chain.

    • Identify performance gaps and drive action to improve results.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Build strong partnerships across Sales, Marketing, Brand, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations.

    • Align teams around e-commerce priorities, customer plans, and business objectives.

    • Ensure inventory, pricing, content, media, promotions, and brand strategies are fully integrated.

    • Influence decisions through strong commercial judgment, data, and insights.

  • Team Leadership & Development

    • Build and lead a high-performing e-commerce organization capable of scaling with the business.

    • Establish clear goals, KPIs, accountability, and operating rhythms.

    • Develop talent and build capabilities across e-commerce, marketplace management, analytics, and retail media.

    • Create a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and performance.

  • Growth & New Channel Development

    • Launch and scale successfully on Walmart.com

    • Identify and evaluate new e-retailers, marketplaces, and digital growth opportunities.

    • Develop business cases based on consumer reach, strategic fit, economics, and growth potential.

    • Lead the launch and scaling of new e-commerce partnerships.

    • Stay ahead of emerging digital retail and consumer trends.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Success in this role will be measured by the ability to:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in e-commerce, and digital commerce with significant experience managing major e-retail platforms.

  • Proven experience with major e-retailers; direct experience with Amazon and/or Chewy and/or Walmart.com is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ownership of a significant e-commerce P&L and track record of delivering profitable growth.

  • Strong understanding of Amazon marketplace dynamics, including 1P vs. 3P models, Vendor/Seller Central, advertising, search, content, promotions, pricing, and digital shelf management.

  • Strong understanding of the Chewy ecosystem and pet e-commerce landscape.

  • Strong understanding of Walmart.com ecosystem and driving growth there.

  • Experience developing joint business plans and managing senior-level customer relationships.

  • Strong commercial, financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate data and consumer insights into actionable business strategies.
