Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
This full-time floater position provides flexible program and service support to eligible individuals and families across assigned service areas and assists with implementing community strategies that promote economic wellness. The Floater supports multiple office locations and programs as staffing or service needs arise. Responsibilities include providing strengths-based case management, maintaining confidential customer files, and entering customer data into the ECKAN database. This position collaborates with program staff across service areas to support continuity of operations and service delivery while upholding ECKAN's mission, vision, values, goals, and code of ethics and adhering to CSBG-specific policies and procedures. Knowledge and application of strengths-based and inclusive communication principles are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - ESSENTIAL:
• Promote ECKAN's mission by utilizing strengths-based, inclusive, and customer-centered approaches when working with individuals, families, community partners, and agency staff.
• Provide flexible service coverage across assigned service areas, offices, and programs to support customer access and service continuity.
• Partner with customers to identify strengths, set goals, explore opportunities, and connect with internal and external resources that support economic stability and overall well-being.
• Collaborate with ECKAN staff and community partners to coordinate services and promote holistic, family-centered outcomes.
• Accurately collect, document, and enter required customer data into ECKAN's database, ensuring records reflect customer progress and program outcomes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Support program accountability by working toward measurable outcomes and assisting with reports that demonstrate program effectiveness and community impact.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and cross-training opportunities to strengthen knowledge of Community Action programs, services, and best practices.
• Support daily office operations and program functions during staff absences, vacancies, or increased service demands, including assisting with Human Services Coordinator responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of customer, staff, and agency information while demonstrating professionalism and ethical responsibility.
• Participate in outreach, community engagement, and needs assessment activities that help identify service gaps and inform responsive Community Action programming.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Frequent travel between service locations within ECKAN's service area is required.
• Occasional out-of-state travel for training or conferences may be required.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to assist with additional duties as assigned to support program and agency operations.
• This position is contingent upon continued program funding.
• Overtime may not be worked without prior authorization from the supervisor or Director of CSBG Operations.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field. Relevant experience may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse populations.
• Strong organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to successfully pass required background checks.
