Eap Care information

What is an EAP Care professional?

An EAP Care professional is someone who works within an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to provide support, counseling, and resources to employees experiencing personal or work-related issues. Their role often includes offering confidential counseling, connecting individuals with mental health resources, and assisting with challenges such as stress, substance abuse, or family problems. EAP Care professionals help improve employee wellbeing, productivity, and workplace morale by addressing issues before they impact work performance.

What are some common challenges faced by EAP Care professionals, and how can they effectively manage them?

EAP Care professionals often encounter challenges such as managing high caseloads, addressing a wide range of personal and workplace issues, and maintaining strict confidentiality. Balancing the emotional demands of supporting clients while adhering to organizational policies can also be demanding. To effectively manage these challenges, EAP professionals benefit from strong organizational skills, regular supervision, and ongoing professional development. Collaboration with HR teams and external mental health providers is also essential to ensure clients receive comprehensive support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EAP Care specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an EAP Care Specialist, you need a background in counseling, psychology, or social work, often supported by a relevant degree and professional licensure such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT. Familiarity with case management software, telehealth platforms, and confidentiality regulations like HIPAA is typically required. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion help you connect with and support clients effectively. These competencies are crucial for providing timely, confidential assistance to employees in need, ultimately supporting organizational well-being and productivity.

How to become an EAP care provider?

To become an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) care provider, individuals typically need a relevant healthcare or mental health qualification such as a master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field. Certification or licensure may be required depending on the state or organization, and experience in counseling or mental health support is often preferred.

What does an EAP care provider do?

An EAP care provider offers confidential support and counseling services to employees and their families for personal or work-related issues. They assess client needs, provide guidance, and may refer individuals to additional mental health or social services, often working within organizations or healthcare settings. Strong communication skills and relevant certifications are typically required for this role.

Bilingual Spanish/English Teletherapist

Impact Suite

Logan, UT • On-site, Remote

Part-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Position Summary
Impact Suite is currently hiring only therapists who are professionally fluent in both Spanish and English. We are seeking
licensed Teletherapists to provide accessible, clinically appropriate, solution-focused mental health care through secure
virtual sessions. Teletherapists help members reduce distress, improve functioning, strengthen resilience, and create
sustainable change within Impact Suite’s short-term EAP model of care.

What You’ll Do
• Provide virtual therapy in both Spanish and English using strengths-based, culturally responsive, solution-focused
approaches.
• Deliver short-term, goal-directed care, generally structured around approximately 6–8 sessions per presenting issue
when clinically appropriate.
• Assess risk, develop safety plans, respond to urgent concerns, fulfill mandatory reporting duties, and facilitate
higher levels of care when needed.
• Complete accurate, timely, objective, and clinically sufficient documentation for every member contact and therapy
session.
• Maintain informed consent, confidentiality, professional boundaries, secure telehealth practices, and awareness of
the member’s location during sessions.
• Integrate appropriate Impact Suite education, assessments, exercises, tracking tools, AI Coaching, Lifestyle
Coaching, and community resources to extend support between sessions.
• Coordinate referrals and consultation when needs exceed the short-term model, your competence, or the legally
permitted scope of teletherapy.
• Maintain an accurate availability calendar and participate in required training, team meetings, clinical consultation,
and professional development.

Required Qualifications
• Professional fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to conduct short-term solutions therapy, safety
planning, informed consent, and documentation in both languages.
• Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or another license-
eligible behavioral health discipline.
• Active, unrestricted professional mental health license and legal authorization to provide teletherapy in each
jurisdiction served.
• Current professional liability insurance and ability to provide required credentialing and renewal documentation.
• Training and demonstrated competence in short-term solutions based therapy, risk assessment, crisis response, and
culturally responsive care.
• Reliable computer, secure internet connection, and a private professional setting suitable for confidential virtual
care.

Preferred Experience
• Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, brief EAP care, telebehavioral health, and motivational interviewing.
• Working with diverse populations and common concerns such as stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, relationships,
recovery, and life transitions.
• Using digital wellness tools and coordinating care across therapy, coaching, medical, crisis, and community
resources.

Contractor Expectations
This is an independent contractor position. Teletherapists exercise independent clinical judgment, manage their own
availability, maintain all licenses and insurance, submit completed sessions and approved teletherapy hours as required,
and comply with applicable laws, licensing-board rules, ethical standards, Impact Suite policies, and their Independent
Contractor Agreement. Compensation will be determined and documented in the individual teletherapy agreement.
