Job description

The Technical Directive (TD) Coordinator (Technical Writer I) revises or writes standardized material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, and related technical and administrative publications concerned with work methods and procedures, and installation, operation, and maintenance of machinery and other equipment. Operates and maintains the NALCOMIS application for Marine Aviation Logistic Squadrons or Organizational Maintenance Activities. The TD Coordinator receives assignment and technical information from Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO), and will accomplish the specific duties which are listed in NAMP chapter 10.

The TD Coordinator may have access to blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mockups, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, and production sequence and detail. This TD Coordinator organizes material and completes writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology, may maintain records and files of work and revisions, select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material, assist in laying out material for publication arrange for typing, duplication and distribution of material; may assist in writing speeches, articles, and public or employee relations releases, and may specialize in writing material regarding work methods and procedures. Additional Responsibilities: The Technical Directive Coordinator shall be proficient in all Mission Design Series (MDS) and Visual Information Display Systems (VIDS) Maintenance Action Forms (MAF) operator, data entry, and retrieval functions.

This individual must be able to execute Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) work orders, automated aircraft discrepancy book and Configuration Management (CM)/Auto Log Set (ALS) records. Performs all duties in accordance with Commander Naval Air Forces Instruction 4790.2B. The Technical Directive (TD) Program Coordinator will be responsible to the Maintenance Material Control Officer (MMCO) and will accomplish the specific duties which are listed in NAMP chapter 10.A minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the aviation maintenance field

At least four (4) years' experience in a management/supervisory position. Must have been a Maintenance Controller for minimum of two (2) years with previous documented "Safe for Flight" authority. Must have completed the Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management for Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activities (OOMA) course (C-555-0053) or both the Naval Aviation Maintenance Control Management course (D or E-555-0040) and the Naval Aviation Officer and Senior Supervisor NALCOMIS OOMA Familiarization course (D or E-555-0054).

Must have completed C-555-0059 Configuration Management for Organizational and Intermediate Activities. High school diploma or equivalent--General Educational Development (GED) certificateA minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the aviation maintenance field. At least four (4) years' experience in a management/supervisory position.
