Job Description:
SUMMARY
Responsiblefor a full range of program support for both the CDL Training Programs, and theState CDL Testing Center. Provides hands on CDL Training as a State LicensedCDL Instructor and supports the State CDL Testing Center as a State CertifiedCDL Examiner. Provides a full range of support for the Transportation InnovationCenter.
ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS
- Responsible for supporting the CDL Training Specialist in the training of CDL students, in any area of instruction, daily.
- Supports the State CDL Testing Center as a State Certified CDL Examiner when required.
- Provides advice, guidance, and feedback to CDL students in the CDL Training program and CDL Test candidates.
- Reinforces instruction to both CDL students and CDL Testing candidates by utilizing a variety of learning modalities to help improve the student, and testing candidate's outcomes.
- Assists with the maintenance records of the CDL Testing Center outcomes.
- Provides a full range of program support for all programs within the Transportation and Logistics Training Center.
- Provides formal daily CDL training instruction supporting the CDL Training Specialists, or the State CDL Examiners when required.
- Participates in program and division committees, as needed.
- Responsible for the maintenance of accurate student records, and CDL Test candidate test scores, when acting as a CDL Examiner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION ANDEXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Significant related experience may substitute for education.
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated verifiable professional CDL Class "A" driving experience in all weather conditions.
- Must have current CDL Class "A" license with all endorsements except Hazardous Materials.
- Must be a licensed CDL Instructor by the Ohio Driver Training Office (with Training Manger Endorsement).
- Must be certified by the State of Ohio as a CDL Examiner or obtain certification within a reasonable period of time as agreed upon by hiring manager.
- Verifiable clean driving record with no more than two (2) points and/or one (1) moving violation in the previous three years from application date.
- No record of Operating Vehicle While Intoxicated (OVI), Driving Under the Influence (DUI) or Reckless Operation convictions.
- Must meet the College's insurability requirements.
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screening examination.
- Must not have any felony convictions within the previous ten years from application date; must be capable of passing Ohio BCI and FBI background checks.
- Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the strategy, management and operations within a department.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations.

Target Starting Salary Range: $60,000 to $70,000
The final offer for the successful candidateis targeted to fall within this range but will be based upon an assessment ofinternal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate'squalifications in relation to the minimum and/or preferred jobrequirement(s).
