Onsite fitness center able to be used while on-duty Up to $2,500 reimbursement for moving expenses 100+ miles from Naples 120 hours of lump-sum holiday pay, plus a separate holiday bonus $2/hour shift differential pay Up to $4,500 annual specialty pay incentives available for roles such as FTO, SWAT, K9, Marine Unit, Instructors (Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Driving, First Aid), Negotiator, HNT, COP, CVSA Examiner, and more Reimbursement of the academy tuition costs to a candidate who paid the cost themselves and has not previously worked for law enforcement agencies. All uniforms and equipment are provided by the department, apart from duty boots. Non-probationary officers with one (1) year of service will receive uniform maintenance allowance of $1,000 annually. Educational reimbursement of up to $5,000, including tuition and textbooks, per calendar year for college or advanced education courses taken in the pursuit of an associate or bachelor's degree.

Law enforcement officers perform duties in accordance with Florida State Statutes, City of Naples policy & procedures and departmental policies & procedures. Position performs essential functions as outlined in the official position description and applicable to assigned functional area.

Performs related work as required. Persons hired into this position will be expected to work on an assigned shift, which may include holidays. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a valid Florida Department of Law Enforcement Police Officer Certification, possess an out-of-state law enforcement certification with ability to meet eligibility requirements for the Florida CJSTC Equivalency of Training program, or provide proof of current police academy enrollment.

Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Must have a valid Florida driver license and received no more than five traffic citations within the past three (3) years. Must not have been convicted of DUI, DWI, or leaving the scene of a traffic crash within the last five (5) years, or have a case pending for any of these offenses.

Out-of-State applicants must have a Florida driver license prior to first day of employment with the City. Not have been convicted of any felony, a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement, or have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States. Any person who, after July 1, 1981, pleads nolo contendere to or is found guilty of any felony or misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement, is not eligible for employment pursuant to Florida State Statute 943.13

Achieve a passing score on a Physical Abilities Test (PAT) for law enforcement. Pass a psychological, medical, and drug testing exam. Pass a comprehensive background investigation.

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Must be a United States citizen. Applicants are prohibited from having any visible tattoo that can be deemed reasonably offensive or morally objectionable, including but not limited to, racially oriented, drug related, or sexually explicit words, pictures, or symbols.

Applicants are prohibited from having any tattoo on the face and scalp. Applicants with tattoo(s) on the hands, head, and neck will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Chief of Police, or designee. All new employees are required to sign an affidavit stating they have not been a tobacco user for at least six (6) months prior to their application for employment and will remain tobacco free during their employment with the City of Naples.

Tobacco is defined as any lighted or unlighted cigarette, cigar, pipe, nicotine dispensing device, or any other type of smoking product, including smokeless tobacco such as spit tobacco, dip, chew, of snuff, in any form. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Copy of social security card Official Driving Record/Abstract (history, records, accidents and citations) Copy of high school diploma Copy of college transcripts (if applicable) ADA COMPLIANCE: Physical Ability: Tasks may involve the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of heavy objects and materials (up to 150 pounds). Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds.

Some tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Environmental Factors: Tasks may risk exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, violence, disease, pathogenic substances and/or toxic/poisonous agents.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE STATEMENT Every City employee has emergency response responsibilities, though not every position will require routine assignments during an emergency event. All employees may be subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the normal work location, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official job description. Assignments in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature, with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically and operationally challenging conditions.
