Job Title:Stage Builder
Location:Newport News, VA
Job Type:Full-Time / Contract
Pay Range:$20.66 - $27.31/hour
Per Diem:$120/day (Non-Local Employees Only)
Bonus:Hire Bonus Available
Overview:We are seeking experienced Stage Builders to support shipyard operations in Newport News, VA. This position involves constructing, maintaining, and dismantling staging systems used throughout shipbuilding and repair projects. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
  • Construct, maintain, and remove all types of staging utilized throughout the shipyard
  • Work safely at extreme heights and in confined spaces as required
  • Inspect staging components and ensure proper assembly and stability
  • Follow all shipyard safety procedures and regulations
  • Assist with staging modifications to support production and maintenance activities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Performphysically demanding tasks in support of shipyard operations
  • Work assigned shifts and overtime as production needs require
Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Stage Builder
  • Ability to climb and work at extreme heights
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • Ability to work insmall confinedspaces
  • Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, stoop, and climb frequently
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work assigned shifts based on production requirements
  • Must be able to pass a Physical Agility Test
  • Must be able to pass a Hair Follicle Drug Test
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
