Job Summary
The employee coordinates and implements a broad range of Evidence-Based Prevention Strategies, Services, Programs and Trainings throughout the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Region in multiple community-based settings including, but not limited to, schools, organizations, Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAS, homes and churches. This position requires occasional evening work and intermittent weekend work. The employee will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The employee will have excellent presentation and facilitation skills, and will demonstrate skills, abilities and knowledge to effectively work with individuals across the lifespan. The employee will exhibit the highest degree of professionalism, respect, team work, creativity and a positive and enthusiastic approach to all dimensions of this position. The employee Reports to the Director of Program Planning, Development and Prevention Services.
The position of Regional Program Coordinator is responsible for:
• Implements Mental Health First Aid Trainings (MHFA)
• Implements ACE (Adverse Childhood Experience) Interface Trainings
• Implements Botvin LifeSkills Training Program Classes (LST)
• Implements Nurturing Parenting Program Classes (NP)
• Implements Children First Classes
• Implements Counter Tools Tobacco, and Problem Gaming and Gambling Merchant Education Strategies
• Implements LOCK and TALK (Suicide Prevention) Strategies
• Implements Question, Persuade and Refer Trainings (QPR)
• Completes and submits reports as required
• Assists with community engagement in coalition building, focusing on preventing youth substance use, suicide prevention, youth marijuana use prevention, and problem gaming and gambling prevention.
• Attends and distributes prevention educational materials at community resource events
• Participates in, and provides support for all Prevention, Health and Wellness Division Events
• Participates in drug take back events
• Participates in Coalition and Task Force Meetings
• Participates in Required Trainings and Staff Meetings
• Performs other related work as required
