Job description

Position Overview
International Motors - Driven By Uptime. Our focus is delivering Trucks and Buses that carry on the promise of being on the road and staying there.
We are seeking a Category Manager - Drivetrain Systems who will perform various supply chain and logistics functions, including material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. You will create integrated processes that connect internal functions-such as operations, purchasing, and logistics-with external suppliers to ensure smooth operations. Your responsibilities will span across the Supply Chain Management function, either as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines, to support the efficient flow of materials and products throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and/or execute the existing strategy for all Commodities within the CMT (Category Management Team) and Major/Minor Programs
  • Manage all commercial aspects with assigned supply base including driving cost savings goals, negotiating, building positive relationships and resolving open issues with the cross functional International team
  • Analyze supplier cost structure and competitive landscape to identify and negotiate savings and mitigate increases
  • Lead the cross-functional CMT for the commodity
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies and gain CMT and executive approval where needed
  • Identify and execute cost savings measures with suppliers and International team to achieve annual goals
  • Identify when a business case needs to be utilized and complete them
  • Analyze Data to Understand the cross functional Impact of Each Initiative
  • Constantly communicate to Supply Chain, Operations, Purchasing, and engineering customers and escalate issues when needed - know who, when, and how to communicate with all Stakeholders
  • Manage the workload of an assigned sourcing specialist where applicable

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience

OR
  • Master's degree and at least 4 years of purchasing/procurement experience

OR
  • At least 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
