Overview
The Drayage Dispatcher will be in charge of planning the utilization of the drivers/owner operators for container movements to and from port locations to customer facilities.
This will be a 1st shift opportunity.
Responsibilities
  • Provides load planning, driver scheduling/appointments, and dispatch duties for in house owner operator fleet and any sub-haulers.
  • Maintains positive and encouraging working relations with all dispatchers and drivers
  • Provides constant communications of service issues to the facility departments
  • Provides daily and weekly performance/KPI data reports
  • Manages and maintains operations inputs to allow for driver settlement via the dispatchers and settlement teams
  • Utilize Trinium system to address issues and document interaction
  • Maintaining ample sub-haulers to handle spikes in volume
  • Follow specific escalation process in the event of major service failure / issue.
  • Respond promptly to driver or carrier needs.
  • Accurate and timely entry into operation system of loads status
  • Assists with implementing Safety, Security, and Operational programs roll out
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of daily and weekly tasks

Qualifications
  • Must have at least 1 year of Port Drayage Experience working with ocean container drayage customers at the Ports
  • High school diploma, general education degree required.
  • Minimum 1 yrs experience with drayage / intermodal business
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Communication skills - verbal and written.
  • Listening skills.
  • Customer-focused team player.
  • Time management skills.
  • Computer knowledge of Outlook, Gmail and MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Well organized with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and yet be detail-oriented
  • Responsible individual with a professional attitude timely, reliable and
  • Excellent follow up skills
  • Experience with Trinium Transportation Management System is desired and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $26/HOUR. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, geographic location, when determining a starting rate of pay.
