Job Description

A growing mechanical construction organization is seeking an Onsite Quality Control Coordinator to support quality activities across project jobsites. This role performs receiving and installation inspections, verifies mechanical equipment and materials against project specifications, and supports established quality control procedures. The coordinator documents findings, identifies non-conforming work, and helps drive corrective actions throughout the project lifecycle. This is a highly visible onsite position with opportunities for continued training and career growth in QA/QC and commissioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement project quality control plans and review job specifications, drawings, flow diagrams, boundaries, and approved submittals.
  • Perform receiving and installation inspections to verify materials, equipment, and major components meet project and quality requirements.
  • Witness welding quality procedures and mechanical testing while confirming required documentation, including WPS, PQR, weld logs, travelers, and stamps, is current and complete.
  • Coordinate mechanical testing, flushing, cleaning, disinfecting, equipment startup, and Factory Acceptance Testing as required.
  • Maintain non-conformance records, corrective action documentation, and complete project turnover records in both digital and hard-copy formats.
Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-year degree in Business, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret isometrics, schematics, flow diagrams, project drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Strong Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and familiarity with mechanical testing equipment and interpreting test results.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, BIM, Bluebeam, Gmail, and cloud-based file systems.
  • Strong verbal, written, and digital communication skills with a professional and continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new procedures and project requirements.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or after-hours when project testing or startup activities require it.
