Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Acquisition / Contract Specialist to support DoD acquisition, procurement, and lifecycle management activities. The role involves applying federal contracting principles, conducting cost and price analysis, and developing acquisition strategies and documentation in alignment with DoD acquisition systems and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Apply knowledge of contracting principles, laws, regulations, and federal acquisition procedures (FAR/DFARS)
  • Perform cost and price analysis to support procurement decisions and acquisition planning
  • Conduct fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex contracting and acquisition issues
  • Develop actionable recommendations, acquisition strategies, and supporting documentation
  • Prepare written materials including reports, correspondence, recommendations, and acquisition deliverables
  • Communicate contractual guidance to stakeholders and non-contracting personnel
  • Support acquisition lifecycle activities within DoD acquisition systems and integrated environments
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data management using Microsoft Office and acquisition tools
  • Collaborate with program teams to resolve procurement and contract-related challenges

Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
      • Project or program management
      • Logistics or life cycle management
      • Acquisition or procurement support
      • Requirements generation or contract support
      • Purchasing of DoD supplies and services
  • Experience may be reduced to 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong understanding of federal and DoD acquisition processes and procedures
  • Experience with contracting principles, cost analysis, and procurement documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD acquisition frameworks
  • Experience supporting acquisition systems or integrated acquisition environments
  • Prior federal or DoD contracting experience strongly preferred.
