We have an opportunity for a Technical Writer to join our Manitowoc, WI team. You will support the global Product Line by producing high-quality technical documentation appropriate for its intended audience in multiple publication formats contributing to the overall product line success. You will also collaborate with teams, engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to make our products easier and safe to install, operate, and service. And finally, take technical data, drawings, diagrams, and instructions to produce documentation with clear intent and communication.

You will:

  • Service documentation development, maintenance, and publishing of: Bulletins, Instructions, Installation, Operation, Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and Parts Manuals
  • NPI and other development team participation and support
  • Interpret engineering data for use by non-technical users and technical maintenance and repair personnel.
  • Create line drawings, diagrams and reference photos as needed to provide quick and easy understanding.
  • Communicate product changes and documentation revisions to our internal teams, customers, and online resources to ensure the latest revisions are always available.

Key Qualifications:

  • Technical Degree and a minimum of 3 years previous experience or will consider a minimum of 5 years previous technical documentation experience, in lieu of education.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail. Develop documents and graphics that are clear and user friendly. Format and typeset service literature and prepare files for print and website publication.
  • Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts / industry terminology and make them easily understandable in written and visual formats. Excellent communication skills; verbal & written.
  • Ability to read engineering documents, drawings, and bills of material. Monitor engineering change and use information to create/update literature and parts manuals.
  • Excels at working with subject-matter experts to gather information and identify relevant data.
  • Strong computer skills with experience working with the following programs:
  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • FrameMaker & Legacy Adobe
  • ProE / CAD / 3D programs /Canvas
  • Microsoft Office
  • Website CMS

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61200 - $113600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
