We are looking for an experienced Intermediate Bookkeeper to join our team in Calgary.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced construction environment and wants to be part of a collaborative team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Office Manager, the Intermediate Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the company. The successful candidate will have strong experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting, while assisting with cash flow management and month-end processes.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable, including invoice verification and payment preparation
  • Manage accounts receivable, collections, customer payments, and account reconciliations
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and cash management
  • Prepare financial reports and support month-end and year-end procedures
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with budgeting and financial analysis as required
  • Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  • Support other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Business Administration preferred
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping principles
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Enterprise experience is considered an asset)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
