Project Coordinator (Commercial Construction)

Full-Time | Permanent

Calgary | Onsite

Salary Range: $65,000 – $90,000

Description

Our client is seeking a driven, organized, and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support commercial construction projects from pre-construction through to close-out. In this role, you’ll work closely with Project Managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and running smoothly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Provide administrative and document control support to Project Managers and field teams throughout all phases of project delivery

  • Maintain project documentation systems, including directories, tracking logs, registers, and electronic filing platforms

  • Coordinate the distribution and management of drawings, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, RFIs, submittals, and change-related documentation

  • Assist with procurement and purchasing activities, including vendor coordination, submittal tracking, and scope agreement administration

  • Support estimating and pre-construction functions through quantity takeoffs, budgeting assistance, and preparation of change orders

  • Review project drawings and specifications to support construction planning, coordination, and execution activities

  • Assist in maintaining project schedules, processing permit applications, and coordinating utility and municipal requirements

  • Support project financial administration, including invoicing, progress billing, forecasting, budget monitoring, and cost control tracking

  • Participate in project meetings by preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and tracking follow-up action items

  • Contribute to project closeout activities, including the compilation of O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built documentation

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders

  • Demonstrate and uphold company core values, including Safety, Integrity, Continuous Improvement, Collaboration, and Accountability

What You Must Have

  • Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering Technology (CET), Engineering, Construction Administration, or a related discipline preferred

  • Previous experience in the construction industry, either in the field or office, is considered an asset

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel; experience with Viewpoint or MS Project is an asset

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and efficiently

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment

  • Understanding of construction contracts, documentation, and project administration processes

  • Safety-focused mindset with WHMIS and CSTS certifications required

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
