Tunnell Consulting looks for top consultants on behalf of our Pharmaceutical/Biotech clients. Currently, one of our client's needs a Document Control Specialist. This is a contract position. Estimated 3 month project with potential for extension, 3 days a week (24 hours/week). All work to be completed onsite. Our client is based in the greater Boston, MA area. Local candidates only.

Title: Document Control Specialist

Position Summary

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for the administration, control, distribution, filing, and archival of GMP documentation. This role supports compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements by ensuring that all controlled paper documents are accurate, complete, and properly maintained throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue, track, and reconcile controlled paper documents.
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper formatting.
  • Maintain document logs, archives, and filing systems.
  • Distribute controlled copies of SOPs, forms, batch records, and other GMP documents.
  • Retrieve and archive documents according to retention requirements.
  • Ensure obsolete documents are removed from circulation and properly archived.
  • Support document revisions, approvals, and document change activities.
  • Assist with audits and inspections by locating and providing requested documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of controlled records.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and other departments to support documentation needs.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of document control, records management, administrative, or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • Experience in a GMP-regulated environment is a plus.

Compensation

  • For this contract role the hourly rate range is $40 - $55/hour based on experience.
