This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.
Are you ready to help shape the future of automotive transportation in California? The Autonomous Vehicles Branch is looking for a dynamic and forward thinking DMV Manager III to join our team. This is a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation, partnering with industry leaders and government agencies as autonomous vehicle technology rapidly evolves. Under the general supervision of the Autonomous Vehicles Branch Chief, the Manager III will review all incoming Notices of Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Noncompliance submitted when an AV is cited by law enforcement for a moving violation, analyzing each case to determine compliance with statutes, regulations, and policies. The Manager III will identify potential issues and recommend appropriate enforcement actions in alignment with California regulations. The Manager III will evaluate all AV permit applications and support the operational processing of these applications. This includes ensuring that manufacturers meet all statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements throughout the permitting process. As the primary point of contact for manufacturers, the Manager III will provide exceptional customer service while collaborating closely with internal DMV teams and partner state and federal agencies. The Manager III will assist the Autonomous Vehicles Branch Chief with developing and documenting regulations, policies, procedures, and respond to customer relations issues arising from the public or other key stakeholde

Working Conditions
