Job description

The Division Finance Manager is the key strategic thought-partner for the VP of Commercial Finance and is directly involved with all aspects of the market P&L, spend management, reporting and analysis. The Division Finance Manager is also in charge of month-close activities including accruals, price support validation and payment of distributor invoices.

Position Summary: The Division Finance Manager is a critical position supporting the assigned markets within the Division Sales regions. This role will act as the key strategic thought-partner for the VP of Commercial Finance, Division Sales VP and Regional Manager team and is directly involved with all aspects of the market P&L, spend management, and reporting and analysis. The incumbent will work closely with distributor finance counterparts (where available) and distributor budgets for the market. This role is also the pricing support to the market team and will own pricing program processes, manage compliance to strategy and tracks results to provide the necessary support for objective decision-making. The Division Finance Manager is also in charge of month-close activities including accruals, price support validation and payment of distributor invoices.

Major Responsibilities /Accountabilities:

Finance/Analytics:

  • Manage and develop with sales team commercial and financial plans that will deliver the Net Sales target
  • Manage the "market-level" Regional Manager budgets – maintain accountability for market-level spend accuracy within budget (DTI, DA, TS, TA, SG, SMS)
  • Complete forecasting and reporting: YTD variance outlook, and market / customer / brand profitability analysis
  • Provide analyses / inputs to enable better decision-making
  • Coach market teams to make profitable decisions
  • Analysis of status of Chains customers
  • Validation of customer redemptions spend
  • Track and reconcile A&P spend and provide ROI analyses (with VP of Commercial Finance and Sales Directors)
  • Track local market incentives (with Sales and Marketing)

Pricing:

  • Own end-to-end pricing processes, including identifying opportunities, approving, denying or enhancing proposals, tracking results, gaining distributor alignment and managing compliance
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and VP of Commercial Finance to identify pricing opportunities and efficiencies
  • Perform break-even analysis on pricing and spend proposals
  • Compliance awareness and monitoring
  • Setting up Innovation and price increase structures

Month End Activities:

  • Validation of Price Support claims
  • Accruals of price support, customer redemptions, distributor payments and A&P spend
  • Allocation and payment of distributor invoices

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide analysis in support of business decisions and partner cross-functionally to achieve the division’s financial objectives
  • Initiate and drive process improvements for greater accuracy, financial control, and efficiency
  • Compile data from a variety of sources to analyze issues and providing reports on key business KPIs
  • Deliver accurate and timely commercial finance reports and other business intelligence essential to the commercial organization
  • Conduct research to uncover key issues, benchmarks, and best practices and synthesize findings into recommendations for optimal business solutions
  • Assist management in developing and reviewing the sales budget and rolling sales forecast including sales to budget variance analysis
  • Support the analysis of pricing and promotional activities to drive effective use of trade spend
  • Provide analytical support to corporate and regional teams as required for quarterly business reviews and on-going business performance management
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver timely results to a high standard
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Personal Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of success in supporting Sales and operation roles. Key attributes and skills include:

  • 5+ years business experience with a focus on analysis and reporting
  • Highly advanced computer skills in Excel, NetSuite, NSAW, iDig
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Relevant experience working in a finance or sales analysis role
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred

Annual Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000

The salary range listed for this position is the range the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting.
