Job description

The Corporate Relations Officer plays a key role in advancing OMSI's institutional fundraising strategy by leading the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate partners. This position is responsible for a current annual revenue goal of $250,000 in institutional support through corporate memberships, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships that align with OMSI's general operations, exhibitions, education and public programs, special initiatives, and campaigns. Annual increases in unrestricted contributed revenues of 5% or more are expected, with a goal of increasing total unrestricted and restricted support to $750,000 annually within five years.Reporting to the Director of Institutional Giving, the Corporate Relations Officer manages a portfolio of current and prospective corporate funders with the capacity to support OMSI at leadership levels. This role works closely with the Marketing, Events, and Museum Education teams to develop and deliver customized proposals, brand activations, and stewardship opportunities that reflect corporate partner priorities and OMSI's mission. The Corporate Relations Officer actively integrates diversity, equity, access, and inclusion throughout all aspects of donor engagement and relationship management. **A cover letter is required for this application** REQUIREMENTS:Business Practices:Developed interpersonal, written, critical thinking, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to persuade and positively move people to action;Demonstrated skills in teamwork and collaboration with colleagues, with varied skills and responsibilities meeting individual and departmental deadlines; Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on exercising initiative and good judgment while adhering to confidentiality, protocol, and community agreements;Demonstrated ability to pivot between individual and team work;Effective time management skills, with an emphasis on managing and tracking multiple projects-often with overlapping and time-sensitive deadlines;Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy;Ability to manage and track annual budgets. Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Knowledge:Strong knowledge of current equity, diversity, inclusion and social justice theories and practical applications, including critical theories of systemic oppression, unconscious bias, and personal identity and intersectionality matters;Ability to manage staff in incorporating DEI into their work and goals, with an emphasis on racial equity and advancing OMSI's Equity Action Framework; Donor Stewardship and Philanthropic Landscape Knowledge:Developed knowledge of Portland's philanthropic landscape to engage in donor stewardship;Ability to work with a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and/or database system;Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office, and the ability to effectively utilize spreadsheets and databases;Effective at building and maintaining strong relationships with people of diverse talents and backgrounds, with an emphasis on relationship stewardship and advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion through a racial equity lens. Pre-employment checks, such as criminal background checks and reference checks are required for this position.
