Manager of Accounting

What You Will Be Doing As a Manager of Accounting you will manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance department and check the accuracy of business transactions. In this role you will supervise assigned staff, prepare monthly financial statements, maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financially related aspects of the electronic health record. Also, as part of the Manager of Accounting position, you will coordinate the finance unit on projects such as overall budget implementation and year-end reporting.

What We Require

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, and five to seven years' experience in the health care industry, three of which involve supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education. Excellent knowledge and experience with accounting software and databases, the ability to multi task, and an understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Physical Efforts Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate. May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate. Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones. Use of computer screen for periods more than 30 minutes at a time. Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer screen. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites. Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
