Job Overview
The Accounting Manager leads initiatives that modernize, standardize, and strengthen accounting and FP&A operations. This role drives process harmonization, data integrity, automation, and reporting transformation across the KMT finance function. The position partners closely with KMT Corporate and Business Enablement finance teams, providing direct support while driving process improvements that enhance consistency, efficiency, reporting effectiveness, and decision-making across the organization.
This role operates in a complex, multi-entity environment with legacy processes and varying levels of standardization, requiring strong change leadership and the ability to drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
Key Job Responsibilities
Process Standardization & Optimization
  • Assess current-state accounting processes and identify inefficiencies, risks, and control gaps.
  • Drive alignment across business units with differing practices, balancing standardization with practical business needs.
  • Design and implement standardized, scalable processes across entities and regions.
  • Lead process harmonization initiatives to ensure consistency in accounting treatment, workflows, and documentation.
  • Establish clear ownership models and governance structures.

Data Integrity, Controls & Governance
  • Lead initiatives to remediate legacy data issues, reconcile discrepancies, and standardize master data structures.
  • Drive cleanup of historical balances, account structures, and reporting inconsistencies.
  • Establish sustainable data governance practices to ensure ongoing accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure redesigned processes align with internal controls, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to process and system changes.

Automation & Systems Enablement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual intervention and improve control through practical, system-enabled solutions.
  • Partner with finance systems and IT teams to support ERP enhancements, integrations, and process-driven system improvements.

Project Leadership, Change Management & Reporting Transformation
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects from scoping through execution and stabilization.
  • Develop detailed project plans, milestones, risk assessments, and status reporting.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and manage change across impacted teams.
  • Facilitate workshops to define future-state processes and documentation standards.
  • Develop standardized reporting and KPIs that improve visibility into performance and reduce reliance on manual or offline analysis.
  • Ensure initiatives deliver measurable improvements in process efficiency, data quality, and reporting consistency.

Qualifications/Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting and FP&A experience, with exposure to process improvement or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects in complex or multi-entity environments.
  • Experience working in environments with evolving processes, systems, or organizational structures.

Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with automation technologies (e.g., Palantir, RPA, workflow tools, BI platforms).
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; familiarity with data visualization tools preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
