Position Summary
West Northfield School District 31 is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Per Diem Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide flexible, as-needed support for our Health Services team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that students in grades PK–8 remain safe, healthy, and ready to learn in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Deliver direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response as needed
• Administer medications and implement individualized student health care plans
• Support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, and allergies
• Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate, confidential health records
• Assess and respond to student health concerns in the school setting
• Collaborate effectively with families, educators, administrators, and healthcare providers
• Promote student wellness through prevention and health education initiatives
• Ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health and ISBE regulations
• Provide coverage across assigned school buildings as needed

Minimum Qualifications
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement preferred, or willingness to obtain
• Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health strongly preferred

• Strong clinical judgment with the ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergencies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to varying school environments
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Working Conditions
• School-based setting serving students in grades PK–8
