Job description

The Machine Guarding Regional Sales Manager position is responsible for direct sales to specific industry segments involved in manufacturing process equipment, robotic and automation system integration and installation of machine guarding products. Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting the Rite Hite Distribution network by providing expert guidance on the sale of the Machine Guarding product line to end user facilities. This role will support a territory primarily focused on Detroit and Canada, with additional support across North America as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create and Execute Territory Business Plan that accounts for assigned objectives and strategic goals.
  • Be the direct sales point-of-contact for OEM machine builders and robotic automation integrators in assigned territory. Provide product, regulatory and engineering input as required, positioning company as an expert in the industries we serve.
  • Provide direction/coaching/training and be the primary expert for the Machine Guarding product line for the Distribution Sales Force assuring long term end user specification and use of RHMG products.
  • Maximize profitability and maintain strategic pricing for machine guarding products at all levels of distribution.
  • Assist in the identification and assessment of future business opportunities by providing feedback on new/emerging opportunities and industry trends for existing product and new product development.
  • Participate in Industry and Corporate Sales meetings and trade events as required.
  • Work in close partnership with Inside Sales Representatives to coordinate lead generation, qualify opportunities, manage the sales pipeline, and execute targeted outreach strategies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain partnerships with all OEM Machine Builder/Robotic Integrator business customers by exceeding customer expectations while maintaining established industry pricing and sales growth expectations assigned by management.
Maintain partnerships with all Distribution Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to assure repeat and specified sales opportunities within RH global and other end user customers. Assist in managing and motivating Distribution Sales force in respect to the Machine Guarding product line.
Maintain profitability and annual sales growth by actively seeking new and maintaining existing customer base at all levels.
Maintain a high level of professionalism through product knowledge and applications, competitive activity, market conditions and a thorough demonstration of presentation, product demonstration and closing skills.
Effective utilization of sales tools, skills, and corporate resources.
Develop, maintain, and update active job reports by utilizing the Salesforce CRM system.
Assist in overall territory development by providing market data and new approaches to sales strategies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Indirectly assist in managing the sales process with New Equipment Representatives, In-Plant Sales Representatives and Field Service Representatives as it pertains to the Machine Guarding Product line. Work closely in a team environment with other Regional Sales Managers, Customer Service Representatives and Application Analysts to assure we are meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of outside sales experience in industrial, manufacturing, or technical sales environments required
Experience selling technical or engineered products; ability to understand and communicate complex solutions
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Demonstrated proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings, including technical plans, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively
Ability to travel up to ~25% of the time, primarily within Detroit/Canada and occasionally to other North American locations. Valid U.S. driver's license and passport required.
