Dissertation Supervisors need advanced expertise in their academic field, a graduate degree (usually at doctoral level), and experience with research methodologies and academic writing. Familiarity with citation management software, learning management systems (LMS), and research databases is common in this role. Strong interpersonal communication, mentorship, organization, and encouragement skills are essential soft traits.
