Manager, Digital Marketing (YouTube - Kids & Family)

Job Description:

*Please note - this is a project hire role with an estimated duration of one year. If you're an internal employee, please discuss further with recruiter.

Job Summary

The Kids & Family Marketing team drives the campaigns, creative, and content that connect our kids' and family entertainment brands with audiences across every platform - with YouTube as one key platform. The Manager, Digital Marketing is a hybrid "left-brain & right-brain" role: part creative partner, part producer. This person will be pulled into concepting and creative ideation sessions as a genuine creative contributor, and will also own the end-to-end production, tracking, delivery, and performance of that creative - ensuring assets are produced on time, on brand, and ready for distribution.

This role works hand-in-hand with our Marketing team as well as our Programming Strategy team, who own scheduling, publishing, and channel operations for Disney Entertainment Television's "made for kids" YouTube channels. Marketing creates it; Programming distributes it and this person is the connective tissue between the two, making sure creative is conceived with platform and audience in mind, produced efficiently, and handed off with everything Programming needs to publish and optimize it successfully.

Responsibilities

Creative Concepting & Ideation

  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, and Brand leads as an active creative contributor in concepting sessions for YouTube-distributed campaigns.

  • Generate endemic YouTube Made for Kids creative across numerous Disney Kids brands, characters, IP and more.

  • Translate broader marketing creative to ideas tailored specifically for YouTube's format, audience behavior, and "made for kids" requirements.

  • Champion strong creative output and craft, holding concepts and cuts to a high bar even under fast turnaround timelines.

Production Management & Tracking

  • Own end-to-end production timelines for marketing creative destined for YouTube from brief through internal reviews, revisions, approvals, and final delivery.

  • Track status of all in-flight creative assets across editors, designers, and outside vendors; proactively flag risks to deadlines or quality.

  • Manage budgets, scopes, and vendor or freelancer relationships for creative production as needed.

  • Maintain organized, up-to-date asset trackers, briefs, and delivery specs so nothing falls through the cracks between Marketing and Programming.

Partnership with Programming Strategy

  • Serve as a marketing point of contact for the Programming Strategist(s) who manage day-to-day publishing on Disney's made-for-kids YouTube channels.

  • Ensure creative assets are delivered to Programming in the correct formats, aspect ratios, and metadata-ready state for full episodes, shorts, compilations, and livestream promotion.

  • Align on release windows, tentpole moments, and campaign cadences so marketing creative and channel publishing schedules are fully in sync.

  • Work with stakeholders early during concepting so creative is designed with platform best practices, algorithm behavior, and channel strategy.

Performance & Creative Optimization

  • Partner with Programming and Research teams to monitor how marketing creative performs once live - views, CTR, retention, and engagement.

  • Apply and communicate performance learnings back into creative development: refining hooks, thumbnails, pacing, and packaging for future campaigns.

  • Support A/B testing of creative variants (thumbnails, titles, cutdowns) in partnership with Programming's channel operations.

  • Stay current on YouTube trends, kids' content and fandom culture, and emerging formats (Shorts, livestreams) to keep creative fresh and competitive.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a bridge across Marketing, Creative Services, Programming, Production, and Research teams to keep campaigns and YT creative moving smoothly.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a role that blended creative development with project or production management, ideally within YouTube channel management, marketing, entertainment, or digital/social content.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute real creative ideas - not just execute a brief with a strong sense of what makes content work on YouTube specifically.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent productions or campaigns with competing deadlines, budgets, stakeholders and vendors.

  • Working knowledge of YouTube as a platform: content formats, thumbnail/title best practices, Shorts, and audience behavior, especially within kids' and family content.

  • Comfort partnering with editors, designers, and outside vendors to shepherd creative from concept to final delivery.

  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-through on tracking and delivery.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to move fluidly between creative conversations and operational status updates.

  • Experience working with a major brand, franchise, or IP, and collaborating closely with creative teams.

  • Genuine interest in children's and family entertainment content.

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, film/media, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $95,500 to $128,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
