WHO WE ARE

Disability Rights California (DRC) defends, advances, and strengthens the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities.

DRC works for a world where all disabled people have power and are treated with dignity and respect. In this world, people with disabilities are supported, valued, included in their communities, afforded the same opportunities as people without disabilities, and make their own decisions.

DRC values all forms of human diversity. We are committed to a culture of belonging where all people are welcome. In order to be effective advocates for all people with disabilities, we must address discrimination in all its forms, including the unique challenges faced by people who experience the intersection of multiple systems of discrimination.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Disability Rights California (DRC) welcomes individuals who want to provide volunteer assistance, including law firms and attorneys, to work on disability related civil and service rights matters. We acknowledge that our work would not be possible without the generous contributions of many volunteers and pro bono counsel.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH DISABILITY RIGHTS CALIFORNIA ON A VOLUNTEER OR PRO BONO BASIS?

You will have the satisfaction of making a big difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. You can partner with a leading California disability rights organization and our staff in various areas of our organization, ranging from support tasks to individual justice or groundbreaking disability rights litigation.  In addition, you can build your skill set.

Our work would not be possible without the generous contributions of many volunteers and pro bono counsel, so thank you for your support!

ONCE YOU COMPLETE - WHATS NEXT!

Our goal is to align your interests and strengths with our needs; therefore, you will be contacted if they both align. Due to the volume of requests your information will be made available to all of our unit leads so they can determine their needs and capacity for a volunteer. Unfortunately, there are some units that aren’t able to accept volunteers due to security clearances.

Your willingness to contribute is greatly appreciated, and we believe your involvement will make a significant impact.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and enthusiasm.

We look forward to connecting with you!
