Job Description:

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, no call requirement

  • Coordinates the appointment, reappointment, and privileging processes for medical staff, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant credentialing activities.
  • Reviews and verifies requests for additional physician privileges, documents competency, and develops draft privileging criteria when none exist.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and Regulations, serving as a resource to physicians and hospital personnel on medical staff governance matters.
  • Manages and updates the Medical Staff database, distributes monthly privilege and staff updates, and authorizes access to hospital computerized systems.
  • Acts as a liaison between medical staff leadership and providers, researching issues, gathering information, and coordinating key communications, meetings, and monthly medical staff calendars.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Computer literacy including proficiency in Credentialing Software, Word, Windows, and database management.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with a variety of professionals with a customer service outlook.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.
  • Knowledge of primary source verification processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Bylaws, Rules and Regulations to serve as a resource person to the medical staff and hospital departments.
  • Customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively.
