Job description

The Opportunity Consult to Hire
This is a rare chance to step directly into the accounting leadership seat at a fast-scaling, publicly traded manufacturer. The company is growing rapidly - operational complexity is rising, the business is adding scale, and the accounting function needs a seasoned leader who can own it immediately. No hand-holding. No long ramp. You walk in, take the wheel, and make an impact from day one.
The role is highly visible - reporting to senior leadership, interfacing with external auditors and the board, and serving as the company's technical accounting authority during a critical growth phase. If you thrive in dynamic environments and want your fingerprints on something that matters, this is it.
What You'll Own
  • Full corporate accounting function - close, consolidations, AP/AR, and reporting
  • ASC 606 revenue recognition across complex, project-based manufacturing operations
  • SEC reporting process - financial statements, disclosures, and filing accuracy
  • SOX program - controls ownership, remediation, and ongoing compliance
  • Stock-based compensation and goodwill impairment accounting
  • External and internal audit leadership
  • A team of direct and indirect reports across accounting and shared services

What We Need
  • Public-company technical accounting background - this is non-negotiable
  • Strong ASC 606 experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment
  • SEC reporting chops - you've been in the room when filings go out
  • Big 4 or national firm foundation strongly preferred
  • SOX program ownership - controls, remediation, the works
  • The instinct to lead, not wait to be told

Who Fits
Public-company manufacturing backgrounds - industrial, engineered products, medical device, or similar project-based environments. Prior titles include VP/Sr. Director Corporate Accounting, Corporate Controller, Assistant Controller, Director Technical Accounting, or Director SEC Reporting.
Pay up to $170 hourly
