About the Role

This position is responsible for leading production shifts - including employees and coordinators - according to plant policies and procedures, obtaining and achieving shift targets set forth by the Senior Leadership Team, and maintaining cross functional relationships and communication in order to achieve daily and long term plant objectives.

You are applying for our A Shift Production Supervisor postion. The schedule will be Monday-Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm

This position does not offer relocation assistance.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for ensuring shift production metrics, and coach/guide staff to meet expected performance metrics
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure collaborative approach in order to continuously improve production metrics, eliminate production roadblocks, and improve equipment performance
  • Responsible for shift and area duties which include, but are not limited to team member training, daily shift and staff scheduling including management of time off requests, overtime assignments, team member coaching, communication of corrective actions, and planning replacement for absent TMs with assistance from Shift Coordinators
  • Assist coordinators with shift planning including the management of equipment downtime, shift-to-shift communications, root cause and five why analysis, safe shutdown of equipment, and building security
  • Operate within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as derived by engineering, and ensure all team members are compliant with SOPs, and/or work instructions
  • In conjunction with coordinators, responsible for quality control, adjust as necessary during shift to produce product within specification; escalate and communicate quality concerns as identified
  • Maintain high standards for 5S throughout the shift; collaborate with Management, other Shift Supervisors, and Coordinators to ensure all 5S requirements are met daily
  • Responsible for reviewing and analyzing shift data/reports with the goal of making the necessary operational adjustment during the shift to meet metric expectations
  • Ability to engage/converse with direct Supervisor/Senior Leaders to discuss operational roadblocks, improvement ideas, short/long-term operational priorities, personnel performance.
  • Conduct regular quarterly one-on-ones with each direct report with the objective of goal planning, obtaining team member feedback, communicating improvement opportunities, and relationship building
  • Responsible for ensuring team members follow Vista's Code of Conduct and policies, escalating personnel concerns when necessary to HR
  • Uphold a culture of safety always; conduct regular safety inspections as required- respond to and report all safety and/or health concerns, issues, and/or infractions as identified
  • Understand the impact of the supervisor position on the company culture - maintaining a positive approach; assume positive intent, seek to understand when necessary, be empathetic when appropriate, and demonstrate work behaviors that are conducive to a positive safety and operational culture striving to exceed customer expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Need:

  • High School GED Required, an associate or bachelor's degree a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role as a Supervisor and or Team Leader in a manufacturing environment with > 30 direct reports.
  • Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing both permanent and temporary team members.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures and high-volume production machinery and systems; digital or off-set printing experience a plus
  • Strong safety background including detailed knowledge/understanding of OSHA Safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory management processes, and utilization of a resource management system (e.g. SAP) a plus.
  • Strong dedication to team member morale, customer service, quality and delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
  • Superior organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Driven and energetic with a strong technical background and understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles - Green Belt Certification or higher a plus.
  • The ability to perform normal activities.
  • The ability to lift 35 lbs.; walk more than 5 miles per day; and stand for at least 5 continuous hours without rest,
  • The ability to actively listen and read comprehensive documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Compensation: 

US Target Hiring Range: $61,000-$90,000 

Cimpress/Vista is committed to transparent and competitive compensation. In alignment with our compensation philosophy, 
the target hiring range is based on total cash compensation across our multiple U.S. pay zones. The actual salary offered will depend on factors such as location, education, training, and experience. Cimpress/Vista offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, wealth and wellness programs, as well as long-term equity incentives, subject to eligibility.
