Job description

Surveillance Supervisor

Responsible for all camera surveillance within the property to include gaming and non-gaming areas and supervise Surveillance staff.

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

  • Supervise and direct the operations of the surveillance department in the absence of the Director of Surveillance
  • Ensure that proper notifications and advisements are made when non-specific situations and/or conditions are met by the operation of the room
  • Make well thought out decisions regarding the operation of the surveillance room and activities that occur in or involve the surveillance department
  • Provide guidance as well as structure and discipline for surveillance observers that are working in the department, regardless of shift
  • Observe and report on all areas under surveillance to ensure compliance with Title 31 regulations, gaming control board regulations and in-house policies and procedures
  • Video and observe the various casino games, count rooms, food and beverage areas, retail areas and casino cage
  • Write investigative reports
  • Communicate with various other departments and reporting what was observed
  • Maintain video coverage equipment

What You Will Need

  • Knowledge of the various casino games and the ability to identify advantage play and/or cheating techniques being applied to them
  • Basic supervisory skills regarding interactions with employees
  • Knowledge of the departmental standards, goals and mission of the surveillance department
  • Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and materials
  • Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills regarding irregular or suspicious activities
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of gaming operations and regulations (casino, cage and slot operations, casino games) and ability to identify methods of cheating
  • Must have basic knowledge of video equipment
  • Ability to interface with all departments under surveillance, outside law enforcement agencies and surveillance information networks
  • Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage math
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent organizational skills required
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining records, letter writing, and data entry with computer keyboard
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures
  • Good working knowledge of computer software to include MS Word, Excel
  • High School diploma

Additional Requirements

  • Mobility is required
  • Must be able to sit and stand at the console to operate cameras
  • Must have the ability to communicate by telephone and radio
  • Must have the ability to bend over and reach from the floor level to 7 feet in order to perform daily tape changes
  • Able to lift up to ten (10) pounds on a regular basis
  • Normal hearing and vision range are required
  • Work in an environment of 8ft. by 8 ft.
  • Employee access is thirty (30) inches and access passageway is twenty-four (24) inches
  • Areas that employees need to access are as small as fourteen (14) inches
  • Work is performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky or dimly lit

Performance Requirements: Must have the ability to provide internal/external guests with service excellence, have excellent communication skills and observation skills, and have an easygoing demeanor to ensure a fun and safe environment for our guests. Above average speech – both speaking and reading/writing English. Need excellent interpersonal skills. Work requires schedule flexibility which may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
