This Cook opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient schedule. Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.

Job summary: Under the direct supervision of the Food & Nutrition Services Director, Supervisor, or Lead, the cook performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties. The cook will prepare appropriate food items for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to recipes.

Job Duties/Responsibiities:

  • Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
  • Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and uses list to communicate to Director/Supervisor. Also assists in putting foods/supplies away appropriately in designated storage area after delivery.
  • Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food.
  • Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate
