Director Ria information

Is $100,000 enough to work with a financial advisor?

For a Director Ria or similar financial professionals, a $100,000 investment can be sufficient to work with a financial advisor, depending on the advisor's fee structure and the complexity of your financial goals. Many advisors charge a percentage of assets under management or flat fees, so the amount needed varies based on the services required and the advisor's policies.

How many financial advisors make $500,000 a year?

In the financial advisory profession, a small percentage of top-performing financial advisors earn $500,000 or more annually, often due to high client assets, extensive experience, and advanced certifications like the CFP or CFA. Achieving this level typically requires managing a large client portfolio, strong sales skills, and a high level of industry experience.

What is a Director Ria?

A Director Ria is typically a high-level executive responsible for overseeing a specific department, program, or business unit within an organization named Ria, such as Ria Money Transfer. The role involves strategic planning, managing teams, ensuring compliance with regulations, and driving business growth. Directors at this level are also responsible for setting goals, monitoring performance, and collaborating with other senior leaders to achieve organizational objectives. Their work often requires extensive experience in management, leadership, and the industry relevant to their organization.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Director at Ria, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Director at Ria, you generally need strong leadership abilities, strategic planning experience, and a solid background in financial services or money transfer operations, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with compliance systems, financial reporting tools, and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and cross-cultural collaboration skills help a Director stand out in this international setting. These qualifications and skills are vital to drive business growth, ensure regulatory compliance, and effectively lead diverse teams in the fast-paced remittance industry.

What are some common challenges faced by a Director in a Remittance and International Affairs (RIA) role, and how can they be addressed?

A Director in Remittance and International Affairs often faces challenges such as navigating complex regulatory environments across multiple countries, ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and adapting to rapidly evolving financial technologies. Building strong relationships with global partners and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local and international regulations are essential for success. Effective Directors foster a culture of compliance, encourage open communication within their teams, and leverage technology to streamline operations and enhance security.

How much does the average RIA make?

The average Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) earns between $100,000 and $200,000 annually, depending on experience, client base, and firm size. Senior RIAs or those managing larger portfolios can earn significantly more, especially with additional certifications like the CFP or CFA. Compensation often includes base salary, bonuses, and profit sharing, and many RIAs work in a client-facing environment requiring strong financial and interpersonal skills.

Is $200,000 enough to work with a financial advisor?

For a Director Ria or similar financial professionals, a $200,000 investment can be sufficient to work with a financial advisor, depending on the advisor's fee structure and the complexity of your financial goals. Many advisors charge a percentage of assets under management or flat fees, so the amount needed varies based on the services required and the advisor's policies.

Job description

Company Description

Farther is a rapidly growing RIA that combines expert advisors with cutting-edge technology - delivering a comprehensive, tailored wealth management experience.

Farther's founders are leaders and innovators from the private wealth industry who possess a unique blend of traditional wealth management, fintech, and technology production expertise. We're backed by top-tier venture capital firms, fintech investors, and industry leaders.

Joining Farther means joining a collaborative team of entrepreneurs who are passionate about helping their clients and our teammates achieve more. If you're the type who breaks through walls to get things done the right way, we want to build the future of wealth management with you.

The Role

We're looking for a seasoned wealth management leader to step in as Head of Advisor Resources for approximately 6.5 months while our current leader is on leave. This is not a placeholder role. You'll lead a 22-person team across five advisor-facing functions โ€” stepping in with full authority and accountability from day one.

The right person for this role has already built and led organizations like this one. They can earn trust fast, set the standard for a high-performing team, and leave things in measurably better shape than they found them.
This is a fixed-term contract role with a target length of approximately 6.5 months. For the right person, there may be a longer-term opportunity on the other side.

Your Impact

  • Own the strategy, goals, and performance of five advisor-facing teams: Investment Solutions, Advanced Planning (financial planning, trust & estate, tax, 401k, and business services), Farther Insurance Group, Lead Generation, and Process Improvement
  • Manage and develop 6 direct reports, building accountability and momentum across a 22-person organization
  • Drive measurable increases in advisor adoption across all service lines; ensuring Farther's resources are a genuine differentiator in advisor recruiting, retention, and client growth
  • Lead Farther's 1H 2027 goal-setting cycle, partnering with team leaders to set ambitious, measurable goals aligned to firm-wide priorities; conduct year-end performance reviews for direct reports
  • Champion the adoption of AI and tech-enabled solutions across all teams: partnering with product and engineering to embed technology into how advisory services are built and delivered
  • Serve as the primary conduit between Advisor Resources and executive leadership; translating team-level progress, risks, and opportunities into clear executive visibility
  • Oversee FIG & Lead Gen's P&L and hold the team accountable to revenue and profitability targets

The Ideal Match

  • 15+ years in wealth management; RIA, IBD, or wealth management platform experience strongly preferred
  • 10+ years leading multiple teams at a senior level, with a track record of developing leaders and driving accountability
  • Deep familiarity with the full spectrum of wealth management services: financial planning, investment advisory, trust & estate, tax, and insurance
  • Proven ability to build and scale advisory support functions; not just maintain them
  • Strong people leader who can navigate complex team dynamics and earn credibility fast
  • Strategic thinker who can set ambitious, meaningful goals across multiple teams simultaneously
  • Executive presence, equally comfortable in a C-suite conversation, a team all-hands, and one-on-one coaching
  • High EQ and the ability to hit the ground running in an established, high-performing environment
  • Genuine enthusiasm for AI and technology as tools for transforming how advisory services are delivered
  • Comfortable operating with urgency in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment

Bonus Points

  • Experience at a growth-stage or tech-enabled RIA, or startup-adjacent environment
  • RIA coaching or advisor group leadership background
  • Background building or scaling lead generation or insurance service lines

Why Join Us

  • Competitive comp package that rewards impact
  • Work alongside some of the brightest minds in fintech
  • Ground-floor opportunity at a fast-scaling startup
  • Chart your own growth path as we expand
  • Full health benefits + 401(k) matching & Roth IRA options
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Ready to disrupt wealth management? Let's talk!
