Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California. The Agency operates a variety of programs to serve the poor and strives to find permanent solutions to crisis situations by offering clients the tools and resources needed to achieve greater self-reliance and stability in their lives.

Catholic Charities operates 18 community centers, one residence and 7 homeless shelters and also serves the poor with multi-faceted programs, including: after-school child care; immigration, refugee, youth employment and psychological services; homework assistance and tutoring; English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Education diploma (GED) classes for adults; and services for homebound seniors and pregnant and parenting youth. In this way, Catholic Charities maintains a continuum of care for clients as they move from vulnerability to self-sufficiency.

Assist Program Director implementation of operational policies, supervising administrative staff, business planning, and implementation, and supporting strategic goals. Participate in these duties primarily through managing, creating, enhancing, and maintaining the necessary infrastructure to support the program’s business operations. The Director of Program Administration assumes responsibility for his/her program in the absence of the Program Director and in collaboration with the Program Director. May supervise the work of employees and/or volunteers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to the Program Director for the day-to-day operational effectiveness of his/her organization.
  • Responsible for keeping the Program Director appraised of specific areas requiring attention and for recommending and implementing appropriate action.
  • Monitors the services provided in his/her program in relation to specific goals and objectives. Recommends modification or corrective action.
  • Responsible for the presentation of these goals to the Program Director.
  • Works with his/her managers in identifying individual responsibilities of administrative staff and each of their respective functional operations
  • Has responsibility for overseeing and administering the approved program policies and for developing his/her new programs.
  • Has responsibility for the planning process, including the submission of annual operating plans, budgets, and the submission of a consolidated program plan to the Program Director.
  • Has oversight responsibility for the preparation, administration, monitoring, reporting and evaluation of all his/her proposals and contracts.
  • Promotes continuous quality improvement and service delivery that is aligned with the program’s mission.
  • Assists Program Director with management over daily operations at site overseeing systems and processes in place to ensure effective operations of program.
  • Supervise, coach, and collaborate with program staff to ensure programmatic and team success, as well as to support the team’s ongoing professional development and growth.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree related to administration or business management.
  • Six to eight years of management level experience.
  • Demonstrate experience working collaboratively and working in a leadership role.
