Job Description
Belcan is looking for a remote Project Scheduler with 5+ years of experience. This is a direct, full-time position with full benefits. Great matching candidates will have a strong program/project management skills and experience working on engineering projects, and are proficient in utilizing Deltek Open Plan (5+ years) and Deltek Cobra. You will be working with engineers, project managers, and control account managers as projects are executed from engineering development to production.
Job Duties:
Schedule Integration
* Support Planning and maintaining control accounts, ensuring vertical and horizontal schedule traceability (including alignment with other CAMs), and creating control account activities (work packages and planning packages)
* Ensuring timely detail planning in accordance with the continuous planning process detailed in the PMP
* Reviewing schedule forecasts and total float for impact and taking corrective action when necessary
* Supporting schedule change control activity and ensuring that all levels of schedule are reviewed for impacts
Financial Management
* Reviewing expenditures for accuracy and proper charging and taking corrective action when required
* Providing authorization to charge, reviewing actual / estimated actual charges, and resolving charging
discrepancies
* Initiating the opening and closing of work packages/charge numbers
Earned Value Management (EVM)
* Assigning appropriate Earned Value Techniques
* Ensuring EVMS process are implemented on the program/project
* Reporting status of performance to-date, at least monthly
Technical Oversight
* Directing and managing subcontractors as applicable
* Assuming direct responsibility for performing the work or sufficient interaction with the work to ensure that meaningful planning, earned value, analysis and EACs are being realized
* Support material requirements and analyzing material performance management
Variance Analysis Reporting
* Ensuring program performance management reports (including analyses) and supporting documentation are completed in a timely manner
* Reviewing and analyzing variances and providing written explanations when program-and/or customer- determined variance thresholds are exceeded
Risk Management
* Contribute to risk and opportunity management process including integration with the EVMS and schedule risk assessments (SRA), as needed, to gain understanding of probability of success
Estimate at Completion (EAC)
* Assessing and/or developing the control account EAC at least monthly for incorporation into reports that are updated with the most likely EAC and, as part of this assessment, quantifying future risks and opportunities in accordance with the program risk management plan
* Developing and documenting EACs at the control account level, including time-phasing ETC for the resources to be used
Stakeholder Reporting
* Developing, coordinating and implementing corrective action plans; monitoring status of in-process activity; and reporting to program management
Change Control
* Providing input to PP&C for the maintenance of scope, schedule and change documentation for in-scope and customer changes
* Support control account documentation reviews and acceptance
Scope & WBS Alignment
* Creating and maintaining validation of SOW-to-WBS cross referencing, ensuring the schedule reflects the entire scope of work
* Developing and maintaining the WBS Dictionary
Required:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in a recognized engineering field from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project scheduling, controls, EVM, & finance analysis experience.
* Proficient in Deltek Open Plan Scheduling Tool & Deltek Cobra
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
* Highly organized, detailed oriented.
* Ability to work independently and with team.
* Some technical, or electrical systems background is preferred. Emphasis on experience working with
Engineers.
* Ability to take ownership of your work and the overall success of the program you are supporting.
* Due to the nature of the work being done all applicants must be U.S. Citizen
Preferred:
TIBCO Spotfire, MS Excel, Aerospace industry experience
Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $72,800 to $87,360 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.'
