The Cancer Support Community (CSC), an international nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C.,isseekingan ambitious and detail-oriented individualwho is passionate about making a difference in the lives of peopleimpactedby cancer for ourDirector, Program and Health Equity.


JOB SUMMARY:

TheDirector,ProgramandHealthEquityisresponsibleforleadingtheimplementation,advancement, and continuous integration of psychosocial cancer care across programs and initiatives within the organization and its network of partners. This role serves as a key program leader, accountable for ensuring that all initiatives are grounded in evidence-based psychosocial support approaches that addresstheemotional,social,andpracticalneedsofindividualsimpactedbycancer,whileadvancing health equity and whole-person care outcomes.

The Director oversees a portfolio of programs, driving implementation, management, and continuous improvement to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and measurable impact. Working in close partnership with internal teams, Network Partners, funders, and external stakeholders, this role translatesstrategyintoexecution, supportingprogramdesign,strengtheningpsychosocialcomponents, and expanding access to high-quality, equitable care.

In addition, the Director plays a critical role in partnership and funding development, program evaluation, and scaling of effective models. This position also contributes to departmental operations andtheenhancementofsystemsandprocessesthatstrengthenprogramdelivery,promoteinnovation in psychosocial oncology, and advance organizational impact.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Program and Health Equity, this position plays an important role in advancingCSC'sprogrammaticgoalswhilesupportingoperationalexcellenceandimpactacrossthe department and network.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ProgramLeadership,PsychosocialOncology&ContinuousImprovement

  • Leadtheplanning,implementation,andoversightofcomplexprogramsandinitiatives,withastrong emphasis on advancing psychosocial oncology leadership.
  • Ensureprogramsintegrateevidence-basedapproachesthataddressemotional,social,andpractical needs, and drive continuous improvement through data, evaluation, and emerging trends to better serve diverse populations.

  • Collaboratewithinternalteams,NetworkPartners,andstakeholderstoimplementandexpandprograms.

TECHNICALSKILLS:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, andTeams.

Experience with project management and collaboration platforms (e.g., Smartsheet,Monday.com)

EDUCATION:

Master'sdegreeinsocialorbehavioralsciences(e.g.,SocialWork,PublicHealth,Psychology,ora related health services or social science field) required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimumofthree(3)yearsofexperienceinpsychosocialprogramdevelopmentandmanagement, including responsibility for leading complex projects, managing partner relationships, and

REQUIREDCERTIFICATES/REGISTRATIONS:

CITI training certificate, or completion of CITI training within 3 months of hire,required.
