JOB SUMMARY

The Manager of Program Management oversees a team of project managers and is responsible for the successful execution of a portfolio of projects across engineering, operations, manufacturing, product development, and/or digital initiatives. This role provides strategic oversight, promotes project governance, drives delivery standards, and supports alignment with business goals. The Manager plays a critical leadership role in project portfolio performance, team development, and continuous improvement.

YOUR IMPACT

Team Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Lead and manage a team of project managers responsible for executing mid- to large-scale projects.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to project team members.
  • Align the PMO's objectives with broader business unit goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a key point of escalation for resolving complex project issues or resource conflicts.

Project Portfolio & Governance

  • Oversee the planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects and programs.
  • Track portfolio health and performance metrics, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Define and refine project governance structures, including templates, standards, and tools.
  • Facilitate portfolio reviews and report progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Drive coordination across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, IT, and Product teams.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align project objectives and execution.
  • Present program health and resource forecasts to executive stakeholders; support strategic planning and organizational readiness.

Process Improvement & Execution Excellence

  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, industry regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ITAR, CMMI), and project frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Identify and implement process improvements across project management practices.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through dashboards, analytics, and KPI reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis (e.g., 8D, A3), Lean Six Sigma practices, and knowledge sharing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) or more years of relevant experience (equivalent to twelve (12) years total in education and experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Two (2) years of experience managing direct or matrixed reports.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • PgMP, Agile leadership certification, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance (e.g., ITAR, FCPA) and enterprise maturity models (e.g., CMMI).
  • Experience in product development, digital transformation, or MES/ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated success in developing dashboards and reporting KPIs across complex portfolios.
  • PMP certification.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid).
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and organizational leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

Pay Range:

$103,300.00 - $177,700.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
