Job description

There is an opening for a Lead Process Technician - Welding based in Irvine, however, from time to time you may be assigned to the Corry/Warren Plants. This salary non-exempt position will report to Jason Harkins, however that may change in the future. Responsibilities include but are not limited to those detailed below:
  • Manufacturing process development and improvements
  • Standardizing work instructions and detailed control plans for repair, cladding, sleeving, stress relief, and maintenance weld processes
  • Manufacturing Evaluation and Optimization (Manufacturing Flow, Routings, Coordination with Machining and Inspection teams)
  • Coordination and implementation throughout facility using the DBR system,
  • Focus on process development, certification, audit compliance, and consumable/inventory management.
  • Equipment identification, procurement, design and implementation
  • Facilitate the manufacturing design process
  • Troubleshoot, analyze and develop solutions for simple and complex weld requirements and certifications.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules;
  • Must have ability and desire to work well with others;
  • This opportunity may require working altered shifts to support production and there will be times when overtime work will be mandatory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two-Year Associate Degree in a related Engineering discipline (preferred Mechanical or Industrial engineering degree) or 5+ years welding experience in a production manufacturing setting.

  • Experience in Welding and Coating operations and inspection
  • Strong background and certification in welding, coating, blasting procedures
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Syteline)
  • Ability to work independently (self-directed) on projects
  • Ability to lead and direct team efforts
  • Strong math skills and problem solving ability
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
