Product Marketing Director - Emergency Medicine (Contract Position for 6 months)
This is a temporary position (40 hours a week) engaged for a defined period and does not constitute an offer of or commitment to permanent employment.

Role Overview
As the Product Marketing Emergency Medicine director, you are responsible for driving our market insights, go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, and business growth in this key specialty. As a subject matter expert in Emergency Medicine, you will own this specialty from A to Z, ensuring that Butterfly is the premier imaging solution for emergency departments, trauma teams, and urgent care settings. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Partnerships, Regulatory, Clinical and other teams to drive adoption, revenue growth, and market leadership globally.
Key Responsibilities
  • Market Vision & Research: Develop a deep understanding of the Emergency Medicine landscape globally, including physician needs, patient care workflows, and emerging healthcare trends.Commission market research and conduct regular customer/KOL interviews to identify evolving needs and emerging applications for point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in emergency settings.
  • Whole Solutions & Roadmap Impact: Provide market insights to Product & Engineering teams to shape advancements in hardware, software, and AI, ensuring our solutions remain best-in-class for emergency and trauma care.Influence the product roadmap to optimize speed, accuracy, and ease of use for clinicians working in high-pressure environments.
  • Whole Solutions Product Positioning & Messaging: Craft compelling, differentiated messaging that clearly articulates our value proposition in Emergency Medicine to healthcare decision-makers, IT leaders, and clinicians. Develop targeted messaging for key POCUS applications in trauma assessments, FAST exams, cardiac and pulmonary evaluations, vascular access, and procedural guidance.
  • Competitive Intelligence: Analyze the competitive landscape within emergency medicine imaging solutions.Identify key differentiators and refine Butterfly's positioning for emergency clinicians.
  • Pipeline Development & Lead Conversion: Drive demand generation and engagement strategies that accelerate lead conversion and revenue growth among emergency departments, urgent care centers, and pre-hospital settings.
  • Channel Strategy & Partnerships: Collaborate with global distribution and channel partners to expand market reach within hospitals, trauma centers, EMS, and military medicine.Develop targeted programs to drive adoption among emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, and pre-hospital care teams.
  • Sales Enablement & Playbook Development: Equip U.S. and international sales teams & distributors with training, tools, and messaging frameworks tailored for emergency medicine professionals.Develop sales playbooks addressing high-acuity applications such as resuscitation, procedural ultrasound, airway management, and bedside diagnostics.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure marketing materials align with global regulatory requirements for medical imaging solutions in emergency care.
  • Ongoing Adoption & Utilization: Develop strategies to drive ongoing engagement, retention, and expansion within emergency medicine.Support education and training initiatives that enhance POCUS adoption in EDs and trauma settings.
  • Case Studies & Thought Leadership: Collaborate with key customers and KOLs to develop case studies, clinical use cases, and best practices showcasing Butterfly's impact in emergency medicine.Drive thought leadership efforts, including conference participation, white papers, and industry partnerships.
  • ARR Growth & Business Impact: Own business outcomes for Emergency Medicine, tracking performance and iterating strategies to drive sustainable revenue growth in this specialty.
Who You Are
  • Deep Domain Expertise: Background in Emergency Medicine, or related healthcare/medical technology fields. Understanding of clinical workflows, challenges, and imaging needs in acute care settings.
  • Marketing & Business Acumen: Proven experience in product marketing, growth strategy, or commercial roles within MedTech, digital health, or SaaS-based healthcare solutions.
  • Strategic Thinker & Doer: Ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies while executing on deliverables that drive measurable impact.
  • Data-Driven & Customer-Centric: Strong analytical skills, with an ability to derive insights from market data and customer feedback to refine positioning and drive business growth.
  • Excellent Communicator & Influencer: Strong storytelling skills, with experience developing content that resonates with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong Collaborator & Leadership: Ability to lead and implement their vision by leading cross functional teams, without direct authority.
  • Results-Oriented: Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth, increasing product adoption, and influencing product development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in product marketing, strategic marketing, or commercial roles within healthcare, MedTech, or digital health.
  • Experience working with emergency medicine clinicians, trauma teams, or critical care providers is highly desirable.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 20%-30%).
Location
Hybrid in NYC (2 - 3 days a week)
