Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000 (Director) up to $95,000 for Pastor

Position Summary:

The Youth Director/Pastor at Christ Community Church (C3) is responsible for leading, overseeing, and growing a vibrant, Christ-centered youth ministry (grades 6-12). This role involves fostering an environment where young people can deepen their relationship with God and build meaningful community. The Youth Director/Pastor will empower and equip youth leaders, engage students and their families, and integrate the youth ministry seamlessly into the broader vision and mission of C3.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vision & Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and articulate a compelling vision for C3's youth ministry that aligns with the overall church mission and values.
    • Strategize, plan, and implement a comprehensive discipleship pathway for students, including worship, teaching, life groups, service, and fellowship.
    • Continuously evaluate programs and strategies for effectiveness and growth.
  2. Discipleship & Programming:
    • Oversee the planning and execution of engaging weekly youth gatherings (e.g., youth group, Bible studies).
    • Develop and deliver age-appropriate teaching that is biblically sound and relevant to the lives of the youth.
    • Organize and lead special events, retreats, mission trips, and outreach ministries.
  3. Team Leadership & Development:
    • Recruit, train, equip, and empower a team of dedicated volunteer youth leaders.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship, support, and spiritual encouragement to leaders.
    • Foster a strong, collaborative, and healthy team culture among youth leaders.
  4. Student Engagement & Care:
    • Build authentic relationships with students, providing spiritual guidance, mentorship, and pastoral care.
    • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel valued, safe, and connected.
    • Be present and accessible to students during youth events and beyond.
  5. Parent & Family Partnership:
    • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about ministry activities and providing resources for family discipleship.
    • Seek opportunities to partner with parents in the spiritual formation of their children.
  6. Church Integration & Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with church staff to ensure seamless integration of youth ministry into the wider church body.
    • Partner closely with the Youth Ministry Assistant for all youth-related communications, event planning, and promotional efforts, leveraging her support for systems and announcements.
    • Actively participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall health and direction of C3.
  7. Administration & Stewardship:
    • Manage the youth ministry budget responsibly.
    • Oversee necessary administrative tasks, record-keeping, and compliance with church policies (e.g., safety protocols).

Qualifications:

  1. Experience:
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience leading or significantly contributing to a vibrant youth ministry.
    • Proven track record of recruiting, developing, and retaining volunteer leaders.
    • Experience in planning and executing youth programs, events, and trips.
  2. Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies, Theology, Christian Ministry, or a related field preferred.
    • Formal theological training or ordination for Youth Pastor.
  3. Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach and apply scripture in a relevant way to youth.
    • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) with youth, parents, leaders, and staff.
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
    • Ability to cast vision, inspire, and motivate young people and volunteers.
    • Proficiency with technology relevant to youth ministry and communications (e.g., social media, presentation software).
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across ministries.
