Job description

As a Logistics Manager II, you will lead the planning and execution of advanced logistics operations to support organizational goals. You will manage complex logistics and depot support activities, mentor junior staff, and ensure customer satisfaction through effective logistics solutions. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with industry standards.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead advanced logistics and depot support operations.
  • Manage complex logistics activities and ensure timely execution.
  • Mentor and train junior logistics staff.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize efficiency.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through effective logistics solutions.
  • Oversee the development and execution of customer training programs.
  • Monitor and improve logistics performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance logistics processes.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics operations.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field of study.
  • 9+ years of logistics management experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience is required.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Advanced understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools.
  • In-depth understanding of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) regulations as they apply to the import and export of goods.
  • Relevant experience working with logistics/warehouse environment and warehouse management systems.
  • Progressive experience with the practical application of Supply Chain/Logistics principles and techniques.
  • Ability to travel extensively, often overseas.
  • Prior experience with handling and managing hazardous/dangerous goods and materials.
  • Previous management experience; the ability to recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.
  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
  • Willing to deploy OCONUS/CONUS missions on an approximate 60/60 rotation.
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management [e.g., APICS, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP)].
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced logistics tools.
  • Familiarity with operating military units, airborne signals intelligence (SIGINT) systems and aircraft sensor equipment.
  • Understanding of third party shipping vendors and requirements.
  • Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and clean driving record.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Requirement to be on your feet for parts of the work shift.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for handling logistics equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office or hybrid environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
