Job Description
Purpose
As the Director, Organizational Design, you will partner with leaders and teams to drive organizational design efforts throughout AbbVie. These efforts will increase performance in our quickly evolving business.
Critical responsibilities include influencing stakeholders, developing OE capability in others, consulting on, designing and delivering solutions in the areas of organization design, strategy, team effectiveness, culture, and change leadership. Through this work, experience and expertise, this role will contribute to increasing the organizational effectiveness capability at AbbVie.
Responsibilities
  • Leads enterprise and Function-level organizational effectiveness work that directly aligns with and supports the strategic roadmap, critical capabilities and top-level leader performance
  • Consults with senior business and HR leaders across AbbVie to identify opportunities to increase leader and team performance related to organizational effectiveness; and subsequently recommends, designs and delivers solutions that produce performance outcomes
  • Influences and guides HR partners and business leaders on areas of focus, prioritizing needs and best-fit solutions
  • Advises and develops organizational effectiveness colleagues on new areas of work and complex projects
  • Facilitates live and virtual solutions, from coaching conversations to multi-day engagements for in line and matrix teams
  • Designs, develops, and executes new organizational effectiveness offerings and materials that enhance OE capability at AbbVie
  • Recommends strategies that fit the culture and integrate across the organization
  • Coaches senior leaders on organizational effectiveness top

Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, required; Master's Degree, a plus
  • Required significant background/experience in:
    o Internal consulting
    o Influencing and collaborating globally and with all levels of leaders
    o Instructional design and facilitation
    o Organizational design principles and application
    o Team effectiveness principles, design, and facilitation
  • A proven, strong performer with leadership experience in multiple aspects of the business and a record of driving business performance in times of change
  • Knows what it takes for leaders to develop others and create high performing teams

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more orless than the posted range.   • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
