Our opportunity:
We're seeking an exceptional Manager of Technical Accounting and Reporting to join our Accounting & Finance team as a strategic leader and subject matter expert. This is a high-impact role where you'll shape our accounting framework, drive compliance excellence, and directly influence how the company communicates its financial story to investors and stakeholders. You'll partner with executive leadership to translate complex accounting challenges into clear, actionable strategies that support our business growth.
Location:
Hybrid role with regular onsite workdays in our San Jose, CA office strongly preferred. Other U.S locations may be considered.
You will make an impact by being responsible for:
  • Leading accounting policy evolution - own the adoption and implementation of new accounting standards, ensuring our policies remain current, compliant, and strategically aligned with our business model
  • Driving technical excellence - partner with the accounting team and cross-functional leaders to navigate complex new transactions, evolving product structures, and accounting rule changes with precision and confidence
  • Ensuring compliance excellence - design and oversee internal controls framework for accounting policies with a focus on SOX effectiveness and audit readiness
  • Crafting financial narratives - author original footnote disclosures, MD&A, and public communications that accurately reflect our financial position and delight investors and auditors
  • Becoming the technical authority - respond to complex accounting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, translating intricate technical matters into clear concepts for all organizational levels
  • Accelerating close cycles - lead monthly close processes including stock-based compensation and equity-related journal entries, publishing investor reporting packages with precision
  • Solving novel problems - work closely with Product, Legal, Finance & Strategy teams to provide technical accounting guidance on new initiatives and market opportunities, collaborating with external auditors to resolve complex matters efficiently

You will be a great fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
  • US CPA (highly preferred)
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience - a strong blend of technical accounting depth and operational know-how
  • Big 4 audit/advisory experience (preferred) - or equivalent exposure to complex accounting matters
  • Stock-based compensation
  • Deep expertise in at least two of these areas:

- Revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Stock-based compensation (ASC 718)
- Business combinations and goodwill accounting (ASC 805)
  • Capital markets experience (IPOs, equity offerings, or SEC reporting) - preferred
  • Technology/SaaS industry background - preferred but not required; willingness to quickly master software/tech accounting nuances is essential
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting systems

The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $155,000 a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.
