Position Summary

The Director of Projects is responsible for leading the successful execution and delivery of projects across Deepsea Technologies. This role oversees Project Managers and project teams, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with customer requirements and company objectives. The Director of Projects drives project performance, operational excellence, resource planning, and continuous improvement while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction. 

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Project Management Department.
  • Implement project management standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Support company strategic initiatives through effective project execution.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align project priorities with organizational goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus.

Project Delivery

  • Oversee the execution of all assigned projects from kickoff through closeout.
  • Ensure projects meet scope, schedule, quality, budget, and contractual requirements.
  • Monitor project performance through KPIs, project reviews, and financial reporting.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize impacts.
  • Resolve project escalations and support teams in overcoming execution challenges.

Financial Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Ensure projects achieve revenue, margin, and profitability objectives.
  • Monitor resource allocation and utilization to maximize project efficiency.
  • Partner with Finance to track costs, billing milestones, and project cash flow.
  • Maintain project backlog reporting and support revenue forecasting activities.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a senior point of contact for key customers throughout project execution.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication.
  • Ensure customer expectations are clearly understood and consistently met.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers and project support personnel.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field required.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of project management experience in technology, engineering, offshore, marine, industrial, or related industries.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing project teams or multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience managing project financials, contracts, and customer relationships.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and resource planning.
